Breakfast in Redmond 2/19/2010

I think the food is good and the service is good, especially at the diner counter but the prices seem a bit steep to me, especially for the griddle food. As an added bonus, one of the waitstaff who works there is smoking hot. more

Special moments and special memories 6/15/2006

This Cafe holds special memories and times for me. My mother Marie Johnson lived at the Apartment complex across from Bella Botega and I lived at Chelsea Square, she introduced me to this cafe when I moved back here to be near her and walk the journey with her battle with cancer. She was such a wonderful woman and she and I enjoyed many meals at the Village Cafe, I do not go as often as I once did because it also is sad in a way because I so want my Mom to be there with me. But I love this cafe and all of the wonderful people there that were so kind when my mother died Oct. 14, 2005. This cafe will always have a special place in my heart and I still go occasionally to share those special moments once again at least in my memory more

Village Square Cafe 9/27/2005

This place is my favorite for breakfast. Anytime I want to go to a place with a friendly atmosphere, I think of this cafe. With a good selection for decent prices, the VSC is amazing and perfect. more

Favorite Breakfast Spot in Redmond 8/25/2005

The décor is fifties diner style decorated bicycles bicycles, the Redmond community and some amusing fifties advertisements (like coffee makes you happy). Village Square Café is one of a chain of locally owned cafes all very consistent food and service. Kids love the hot chocolate. A steaming cup of coco is topped with a generous mountain of whipped cream. It is then sprinkled with colorful M&Ms. They are quite impressive! Caution, kids that aren’t very cautious will make a mess of them. The coffee is always hot and bottomless, and comes with an assortment of cream and International delight creamers. I typically order omelets and they are always cooked thoroughly and taste consistent. The cinnamon rolls are good. They have specials that are often enticing as well. Occasionally they will serve hash browns that aren’t as crispy as I like. I can’t claim to be an expert on biscuits and gravy; I’ve ordered them once, just to try them out. I liked them and I would order them again as a “treat” (they are rather heavy). For lunch (if I don’t order off the breakfast menu) I recommend the Monte Cristo Sandwich. They have good old fashioned style milkshakes, Green Rivers, burger dips and hot turkey sandwiches. Often on Saturday and Sunday morning during “breakfast prime-time” there is a wait at the Village Square Café. It seems like our waits average roughly 10 minutes or less. Crystal Creek Café in Bothell is their largest and newest spot. Issaquah Café has a NW wilderness theme. If you are in Woodinville, look for the Woodinville Café. more
