Village Pet Spa

HORRIBLE! One of the owners, Gary, is the meanest and rudest person I have ever met. After 6 years of being a loyal customer, Gary yelled at me when I showed up for an appointment that was booked by his employee. Apparently he was too busy for me and lost it. He actually said to me, "you're nothing but trouble, you're constantly asking to pick up your dog early." Meanwhile, I have NEVER ever- not even once- asked to pick my dog up early. He put me down, was rude, and screamed at me and my cancer-stricken dog. I left shaking and in tears. I now go to Muddy Puppy in Wallingford and realize how customers and their loved ones should be treated. They are fantastic and groom my baby 100 times better than Village Pet Spa ever did. more

my experience at this grooming shop was exceptionally pleasant! for starters when you pull into the grounds it is very well kept and pretty . the building is bright and cheerful and the facility itself is very clean and large and open . no nasty odor. the owner clearly cares about his shop and its appearance. the staff was very very pleasant and kind. when I dropped my dog off they listened to everything I said. I know my dog has gotten grumpy in his old age and can be difficult to handle. they assured me that this would be no problem . I was able to observe from the lobby the way the staff handled the dogs and they were very gentle and kind and seemed to enjoy the company of the dogs and looked happy to be there as opposed to other grooming shops I have been to in the area. when I picked my dog up shortly after he was in a terrific mood and smelled very fresh and the haircut was beautiful! exactly what I wanted. as well as making my dog look the best he has in years the owner more

Although my dog got loose from the pet spa, she was found after a week of searching and was unharmed. Rod, the pet spa owner, was very apologetic over the whole situation. All's well that ends well. more

I would absolutely recommend Village Pet Spa to anyone! I have been bringing my Rottie there for quite sometime now, and she's treated like a queen every time. Rodney and Gary are not only very sweet and trustworthy, but are also very knowledgeable people. They do a great job are right there if you ever have any questions. You can tell they truly care about the animals and their people. Village Pet Spa has been in business for many, many years and I wish them even more. I would never think about bringing my animals anywhere else! more

I bring my dog to Village Pet Spa and have for at least 6 years now. I would never trust my purebred poodle scooby with anyone else. He requires a special diet and medication. When I go away, I know he is in excellent hands in the care of Rod, Gary, and the staff. They are knowledgable, caring, and friendly. I am able to relax and enjoy my time away knowing Scooby is in such capable hands! more

There is not another grooming salon or kennel I would consider. This place and the staff speak for thenselves! They are all professional and courteous. Their number one concern is the safety, happiness, and appearance of the animal. Exceptional job! more

The Village Pet Spa is an amazing place that caters to you and your animals' every need..Its for the people who understand and appreciate how much their animal is a part of their everyday lives,they spoil, love,respect and appreciate the animals as if they were their very own...Rod the owner is a phenominal man who has followed his passion of being a dog groomer since he was young boy,he never disappoints any of his customers and always has a smile on his face,you can see his passion/love of grooming when he hands you your dog and they look outstanding,pure satisfaction,as if you are taking your canine to a dog show.....I know sooo many people who stand by him since the moment he has opened and wouldnt have it any other way..He is truly amazing and you can see his dedication to these animals not only now but through out the years...His name is known everywhere, not for disappointment for truly loving and caring about everyones animals,and doing the best to his ability to please you and more

I have been going to Village Pet Spa for over 25 years and I recommend to anyone who lives in the area to give them a try. \r I referred all my friends and family to have their dogs/cats groomed and boarded there, and they all became loyal customers. Rod and Gary truly love animals, and all the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. \r Also, I love to use the kennel to board my dogs when I go away.\r I choose to board my dogs there because the kennel never smells, I am allowed to bring any blankets,food, treats, toys,\r and the space my dogs stay is bigger than I expected! I board year around, and in the winter, its very warm inside for the dogs \r and in the summer, its dry and cool. I love Village Pet Spa and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else! more

After taking my dogs here for over three years and always finding something that was just not quite right, this last visit was the last straw! This is just too much money to pay and not be satisfied. Not sure about the groomer either. Definitely does not have a "bedside manor with animals. I do not feel assured that my dogs are treated gently. I will definitely try the Muddy Puppy. I have heard very good things about this establishment. more

my dog shelby has been going to vps for years...she cant wait to get in the door......very comforting to use rod and gary...excellant groomers also! Pros: great parking, smaller kennel, spotless Cons: must book in advance more

Its so cute inside, very dog friendly! We have 6 dogs and took them there, they looked wonderful when we picked them out. They weren't overly expensive which is nice and they seemed to be very gentle. more

I have gone here with a friend who takes her west highland white terrior here to be groomed. The staff is very nice and seemed excited to see her dog. The grooming was wonderful- she looked as if she stepped out of a show. Cannot say a bad thing about this groomer! more

They are so cute inside! They really care for the animals and greet them by name. We have a few dogs and dont get them cut by their normal breed. They always listen and cut them the way we want, even though its different from the normal cut of their breed. I appreciate that they listen more
