Village Market Place

I like this store a lot. While its selection is really similar to your typical fruit market, the whole set up of the place is a lot more sophisticated and more organized. Everything is neatly placed here and easy to find. The prices are also very similar and the quality of the goods are wonderful. They also carry a lot of ethnic items and ingrediants here. Every week, they have different sales and most of the times these sales are great. more

I enjoy Village market Place as an alternative to jewel and other major chains. They do very well with deli, where their cold cuts and cheese selection is outstanding, MUCH less expensive than Jewel and clearly less expensive than their competitor, Market Place on Oakton. Their produce is generally good and generally priced much better than Jewel, but I do look through thoroughly to make sure I am getting the quality I want. They occasionally have some older produce out without removing it from the bins.. I've had good experiences with their packages chicken, which is good and reasonably prices, and their dairy products. They usually have large eggs on sale for .99 a pound. Lastly, they have a small but nice selection of wines and Russian/Eastern European beers. The people there are really nice and helpful. So, I recommend them highly. Just look closely at the produce. more

I come here to get all my produce whenever possible. It is always very fresh and makes you feel like you're doing something good for your body and your family. Their flowers are also beautiful, if you want to spruce up your home. They sell many types of meat, as well, as many ethnic foods. Easy to get to on Oakton in Skokie. more
