A clean facility and functional 4/3/2012

A clean facility and functional equipment are essential to this type of a business. However, there's yet another element, which can make one business ""stand out"" from the competition. I'm sorry to say it, but in this particular area, that element is SORELY LACKING. The individuals who own this place might fare better if they made even a minimal effort to be at least a LITTLE more friendly towards their patrons--ALL PATRONS--NOT JUST when it's ""convenient"" and ONLY to those who are of a preferred ""ethnic origin"" (meaning the ""darker complected races""), or who appear ""to be ""affluent"", ""upper crust"" and/or deemed acceptable at first glance, from YOUR NARROW visual standards (men with bulging greased-biceps, and tiny ""china doll-like"" women, who stand 4' 10"" and weigh 87 lbs). No, this would include the skinny science nerd college kid with the thick glasses, and the fast-moving somewhat over weight, but muscular white chick, and the 80 year-old grand pa, and all who are in between. WHY? Because this day and age, you simply NEVER KNOW The owners of Village Laundry should invest about $10 in the purchase of Dale Carnegie's book, ""How to Win Friends and Influence People"". There's a great reason it's been on the international ""best-seller"" list for decades. In the meantime, just KNOW that people, esp. when they spend money at your business, like to feel appreciated. H***, at Village Laundry, they might appreciate simply being acknowledged, instead of feeling rushed, being stared, scowled and glared at, as though they're hardened criminals wondering whether the shop was going to close 45 minutes earlier than the time listed as the hours of operation. If you prefer to close at an earlier time, there's a REALLY easy solution. Replace the old sign on your door with a sign which indicates your ""updated"" hours of operation, and stick with them. It requires little effort, even less time and best of all, it doesn't COST a thing (all though, you could stand to gain/profit from it)! more
