Visited this restaurant over the weekend. A little bit of a wait, but well worth it. Food was superb. Started with Calamari, it was excellent. Ordered Gamberi Siciliano. Superb. I actually eat here often.My boyfriend from NJ, who is EXTREMELY picky about pizza insists on eating here everytime he's in town. I've eaten here since it opened and love it. There is something about the large pizzas, opposed to the medium and small pizzas, that reminds people of a real NY style pizza. My dad, who is also picky about Pizza, and is from Brooklyn, NY told me that Villa Bellas pizza was the first pizza that he's had in his 35+ years of living in the DC area that has reminded him of NY pizza and he was almost nastolgic for his childhood just at the taste of his first slice. The Gnocci is good. My mom LOVEs the Tomato/Onion Salad. My father and I also love the spinach salad with alfredo sauce dressing. If you like to see your food cooked in a brick oven, this is the place to go. Invarably, you have 15 minute waiting to get seated because it is popular. I like the dishes and bershutta on bread. Parking is in a shopping center and not difficult. Service was excellent and attentive. The breads with the oil and cheese are terrific. more
