I would recommend View to anyone! Pros: Great food, service, and environment

Worst

This place has an attitude problem. The hosts and bartenders make you feel like you are a hassle. I got an idea, do your damn job and don't roll your eyes at customers. This place...

Nice service, pretty good food 7/19/2006

We had a group of 7 people on a Wed. night and received great service. Appetizers were very tasty. Drinks were overpriced, but our pal having a birthday was given a complimentary martini. I had the fish of the day and really enjoyed it - sea bass with an olive, tomato and caper salsa. Others in the group stuck to burgers and were less impressed - said they were good, but nothing special.\r The ambience inside is cool, but we were very disappointed that the beautiful deck was closed, just because there was rain earlier in the day.\r Also, the $2 parking at the Calhoun Beach Club ramp is a great bonus.\r I would recommend the View....and hopefully with time it will get even better. Pros: Service, atmosphere, parking Cons: Deck closed sometimes, average burgers more

Too loud 6/25/2006

The noise level in here is deafening, maybe its the annoying crowd or the acoustics of the place. Has potential but some things need to be sorted out. Very uncomfortable when I visited, its like each person trying to undo the other shouting/loud wise. Pros: Location, valet, darkly lit Cons: noise, aloof waiters, confused DJs more

Great place except for service 5/10/2006

I had reservations for a small group very early in the night, 4:00pm to celebrate a special occaison. I had a handicapped family member present and asked to please avoid stairs. The hostess was very aloof, telling me she could not accomodate that and basically said that View was not that type of place. She said this in front of my family member. Also, a member of the group received the wrong entree and the person who brought it out said ""it would take a long time to make the right meal."" No apologies. We mentioned it to the server and he did nothing about it. We chose to drop it since we were celebrating. Beautiful place and great food but service was lacking. Pros: Inexpensive, View, Ambience Cons: Service, Parking, Not handicap friendly more

The best new hot spot in town 4/3/2006

View resturant and lounge is the first resturant in Minneapolis that makes you feel like you're in New York. Beautiful atmosphere however not a stuffy place...it's casual to dressy so wear what you feel. The scene is beautiful young professionals to lake neighbors. Food is amazing and healthy! Love the spinach/sundried tomato stuffed turkey burger and it comes with the option of fries OR fresh veggies...makes that run around the lake not a waste of your time. The weekends ARE HOT at this joint and the DJ rocks this place...don't miss it. Pros: Cheap Valet Parking, Great inexpensive foo, Awesome atmosphere Cons: can get crowded more

Food and Views are Highly Recommended 4/3/2006

We went to View for the first time last weekend. Went there for dinner and drinks, I had the pork tenderloin as recommended by a friend... definitely worth it. The prices of the food and drinks was very reasonable in my opinion... so much so that it may become my regular ""Uptown hangout""... Sorry Chino! Valet was VERY AFFORDABLE (3 bucks)... I hope other establishments take note. And the view is unbelievable! ;) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE VIEW! Will visit this weekend for Brunch and let you all know how I fair... Pros: Inexpensive, Valet, Incredible Views more

Great Service 3/30/2006

I made reservations for a group of 6, we arrived early and the table was ready. Excellent food and reasonable prices, except on one item. We ordered the Appetizer Sampler which was $39, assuming that should be enough for 6 people, it's really more appropriate for 2 or 3, so that item was over priced, other than that, everything was perfect.
