I was also a member when they were a credit union, over 12 years! Same experience as sjp24 - fees fees fees. When they switched from a not-for-profit credit union to a for-profit bank, the for-profit status certainly became a focus. I felt sorry for the employees actually. They watched as their institution changed around them and they had to talk to the irate members. Oops, I meant customers.\r

FYI: I switched back to a credit union, TexansCU (dot) org, and am quite happy. About to move my mortgage there too.
Pros: They have a lot of locations
Cons: Late to deploy technology, profit model based on fees, old community spirit gone.
