Vidiots has everything you need with a very knowledgeable staff unlike a chain like Blockbuster. Nice Ocean Park neighborhood store, even major actors peruse here such as the sublime and fantastic Julie Christie who I here lived in the neighborhood a few years back. more

Vidiot's has a remarkable film collection that includes everything from the lowest of B movies (think Santa Claus Goes to Mars) all the way to rare or obscure foreign films, and when I say the have foreign film it's not some little shelf in the back corner with a few french titles on it. They have quite a selection, and from many different nationalities. This is not however at the expense of popular American cinema of which they have an abundance, and they add new titles all the time. Also of note is a particularly large documentaries section which is unusual compared to most video stores. Though don't be intimidated by the film geekiness if your not one, they are quite accessible and helpful if you have any questions, and their staff selections are usually interesting to check out. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and even part time employees are usually hired because they are students of film and have a genuine interest. It's also a joy to come by at seasonal changes to see the evolving glass murals that are always up, I remember this past holiday season, Santa was having an affair on the west facing window. If you really want to geek out with some movies (and the people who love them), visit Vidiots. They offer everything from blockbusters to the obscure, and although sometimes it's difficult to navigate (I always found video stores that organize films by director to be a little intimidating), staff will be happy to help if you can get them to stop navel-gazing long enough to assist you. more

This place is totally rad because the guys who work there will tell you anything you need to know about a given movie you choose. They have a bunch of stuff you probably won’t find at Blockbuster which is also very cool, because video stores nowadays usually only carry the “hits” so to speak. I used to work in Santa Monica and would go here once a week. Too bad now I work too far away! more

Vidiots is the rental store for those who are sick of Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, 20/20, and Movie Gallery. Vidiots has a lot of films that these places don't. The guys who work here are also video nuts that have quite a bit of knowledge about any type of movie one can think of. They also have a lot of movies that are no longer known. Indie film galore! Vidiots is a good store to find any type of movie you are looking for. They have a wide range of foriegn films. I like to go there for the japanese anime films. The staff knows what they are talking about so when looking for a movie ask them what they recommend and they might give you a good idea for your movie night. Vidiots is the only place to go if you are in search of a rare or artsy or foreign type film and you are searching within the Los Angeles area. The work staff is very knowledgable and can really be helpful in giving you great movie tiips if you are interested. They are amazing. more
