Victor's Italian Restaurant

I wanted some where special to take my husband for his 55th birthday. Victor's was definitely the right choice. The restaurant sits in a renovated church. The atmosphere was quaint and romantic. All of us had a different seafood and pasta dish and none of us were disappointed! The fresh ingredients and flavors came through in the quality of the meal. The Shrimp Diablo was fabulous! Pasta with homemade pesto and scallops...mmmm can't even begin to tell you how wonderful the layers of flavor were. And desert put the meal over the top with an in house pastry chef that gives new meaning to the word death by chocolate! Afterwords we relaxed and listened to live Jaz music coming from the lounge. My decade long 'affair' with Victor's may be ending. The 30.00 Violet's special promised sauteed gulf shrimp, scallops, lump crabmeat, asparagus, and red pepper finished with a Cognac cream sauce and lobster raviolis. My friend and I were served a hand full of gulf shrimp arranged in a pinwheel surrounded by a few overcooked, fried lobster raviolis and the sauce. This is the second time in recent months that I have had this experience. I love the atmosphere at Victor's, but dining out for me is about the food! Quite a different setting as this was a church in a previous "life". The pluses; great food, nice service. The con; it was very smoky the night that we were there. Would be much better without smoking. more

Victors serves up some good Italian food. I think that it taste authentic. The atmosphere is different.. it used to be a church...hum. They serve alcoholic beverages. The prices are reasonable, and the service is pretty good. more

Simply one of the top 5 restaurants in York. Plus a fun, relaxing, clean bar with friendy people and reasonable prices. Pros: Beatiful Atmosphere, Good Value, Great Community Bar Cons: Can be loud at times, Smallish Dining Room, Hard to Find more
