Vic's Classic Italian Steak

I was there recently with friends for my birthday and I think it was a great value. I've been coming here since before the ownership change (three years ago) and I think the new owner has made everything better. The steaks were better than I've had at Morton's or Gibsons and were priced below what I've paid at other places. When you compare Vic's to the chains in the Oakbrook area they come out on top: great food, great drinks and comfortable atmosphere. (If Sarrahsarrah999 says the food is too salty, she probably put too much of the imported romano cheese on her food. I recently went to Vic's on a Friday night with friends and I'm sad to say, it's not the same place it used to be. Our food was overpriced and generally over cooked and salty, and the service was mediocre. We later found out Vic's is under new ownership which may explain the unfortunate changes. We've been to Vic's a number of times and have found nothing that disappoints. From the hand-made pastas (especially the 8-Finger in Vodka sauce) to the fresh seafood, its the best Italian cooking I've ever had. Great wine list (50 wines by the glass) and a retro lounge/bar make this a fun night out with friends. more
