Veterans Landscape/Damian Caruso - Use at your own risk! 12/14/2008

This company used to call themselves Landscape contractors but now refer to themselves as tree stump removal. They cannot even do this correctly because a woman in Bethlehem has just won a suit against them in Oct of 2008. The trees they planted literally fell down. My case was Landscaping. They "constructed" a curtain drain by starting the trench at the wrong end and when the whole continued to fill with water they did not know what to do so they attached 160' of exposed electrical cord and plugged it into our garage, then attached a regular garden hose to the other end of the small sump pump they put in the hole and it was supposed to drain to the brook this way. They also left our yard with deep ruts from their machinery and heavy deposits of stone placed all over the yard because their heavy machinery was sinking badly into the soil. I inforned them that Dec was not the time to do this because of our wet conditions but they proceded anyway. ( I first contacted them in the summer but they had more important things to do). I strongly suspect they did not even have the equipment to do the job at the time. These people have no knowledge of landscaping nor do they possess skills for this type of work. Veterans Landscape Design/Damian Caruso ( and his partner Ed Lesinsky) were not licensed when they did our "curtain drain". They sure ran out quickly and got one when the Attorney General questioned Damian Caruso. This license was effective 11/30/2007, only a few days after the attorney general's 3 rd call to Damian questioning his as to whether he had a license. The town of Middlebury assessed their "job' and found numerous violations. Damian assured me what he was doing was within codes but obviously he did not know what was proper to do. They not only know nothing about landscaping but are not capable or knowlegable in any aspect of yardwork. I am writing this so consumers can make an informed decision before using this company. I hope this review is helpful Pros: There are no positive attributes about Veterans Landscape. Cons: They do not have landscaping knowledge nor do they care about customer satisfaction. more
