Verona Restaurant

Let me just say one thing: TERRIBLE F - - -ING FOOD!!!! Anyone who has gone and enjoyed ANY of their food because of cheap prices, needs head examined! I mean truly way below acceptable! more

Beware! This place is committing fraud. Don't go there expecting to use any restaurantDOTcom vouchers you may have purchased. Traveled all the way there from miles away with one and were turned away and told if we wanted to get our money back, to contact restaurantDOTcom, which we did, but that doesn't make up for the huge inconvenience. If you google Verona, you will see the first thing that comes up is an ad at the top for restaurantDOTcom. And if you go to restaurantDOTcom, you will see that they are STILL selling vouchers for Verona. We were told by restaurantDOTcom that they still hold a contract with Verona until it is canceled and according to said contract, they must honor all current vouchers. Doing otherwise is ILLEGAL and FALSE ADVERTISING. Basically Verona is fleecing customers and restaurantDOTcom by getting free money and advertising from them, since they're not honoring vouchers. Before this experience, I may have given them 2 stars for their sub-par food, decor, and service. Now I will never return to that place. Others in my family have bought the vouchers also and now can't use them...not happy. more

Not sure how last 2 reviewers could love the place, unless they are either very cheap or have no idea of waht good food really is. The place serves 3rd rate food at best, in my opinion from having been there on 2 occasions at invitation of friends for specific occasions. The kitchen is not exactly clean. Quality of food is fairly low as is the preparation. On one of my visits, found two (yes 2!!) hairs in my salad. The meat was dark and looked like it had been in their freezer for maybe 2 years. Wish I could say one good thing about the joint, but being Italian perhaps spoiled me regarding good food. It has been our experience that ""most"" Americans born here are not great cooks and/or do not really know ""good"" food (no offense, but true). Consequently, if one has no basis for comparison, even a hot dog is great! This place is most definetly NOT great...3rd rate at best. But, hey - go try it and judge for yourself. Ate there Friday evening and not by choice - friends drove there after skating practice. The food was not good at all. The roast beef was dark and tasteless. My frind's fork was not well washed. The pasta he had was truly pathetic as was the sauce. The place is old but the guy who owns it did a ""bandaid"" job to hide imperfections and crummy interior. I would hate to see the kitchen. My advice - go to McDonalds if you are cheap enough to ""bite"" for the $25 dinner for two deal. Truly pathetic! Pros: none that i can think of Cons: just about everything more

Ate there at a function today - roast beef looked 3 month old and absolutely lousy taste! Pasta with sauce..strange taste and like gum. What do you expect from a place that advertizes 2 complete dinners anyday/anytime for $25? To compund TERRIBLE food I had one long curly hair in my dish, a medium one in big bowl of ""homestyle"" salad, and two very short curlies near my place setting. CLASSY HUH? Verona's has to be...no doubt..not a single doubt, one of the very worst eatery places (if not the worst) in all of Massachusetts! I agree with another reviewer...it's HORRIBLE!! We went to this place and can't even describe how bad it is! Pasta dish..came out with virtually raw/aged shrimp, and appeared to have been prepared a day or two before. We got salads..all bland on paper plates and an added feature in my wife's salad of a hair (hopefully not pubic). The fish plate -absolutely horrific! Bland, mushy, smelly...something a cat would not eat. French fries...checked them..all mushy., soft, bad tasting. Don't even think of going. I would not wish it on my worst enemy!
