Great show, but horrible experience 2/27/2011

The floors very dirty and the tables by the bar were also dirty. It was basically gross. The show was awesome (3OH!3, Cobra Starship, Jay Sean, IYAZ..) Me and my friend were waiting for my sister to come pick us up and give me money to purchase a tour shirt after the show and we wanted to wait inside because it was late, downtown Houston and we're only teen girls! Anyways the security guard was EXTREMELY rude and told us to leave immediately, even though it wasn't even 30 minutes after the show had ended! He continued to argue with us for 10 or 15 minutes and started moving us toward the door after we basically begged him to let us stay inside but he was very persistent.. Well my sister finally arrived and I was able to purchase a shirt. The show of course was amazing but the venue was horrible and I plan on never returning. You'd think Verizon would be able to have a decent theater with the amount they except people to pay for their wireless service...... more

Never again 1/11/2011

My experience at the Verizon Wireless will be unforgetable but for the wrong reasons First off,I didnt know that our seats were ""standing seats"". No where on the ticket did it say anything about us having to stand. If it did, I definitely would of worn different shoes. Once the lights turned off, everyone was trying to push and shove their way to the front of the stage. Also many people were passing out during the concert because it was so unbelievably hot in there! more

Awesome sound 11/6/2009

I have seen several bands at this venue, and it's always awesome. The sound is great, and it's a really intimate experience, no matter where you're sitting. You should be aware, however, that even though a seat # is listed, if it says GA before it, it's standing room only. Also, the bar lines get long, but there are bars everywhere, which I discovered after waiting in a super long line in the lobby. If a band you love is playing there you'd be a fool to miss it. Pros: Intimate, great sound Cons: Parking sucks more

They weren't upfront about seating 10/5/2009

My wife and I attended the Rob Thomas concert at the Verizon. It was our first time at Verizon but we are a fairly experienced at this. When I bought tickets for $63 each online it gave me a row G26 and 2 seats;12 and 13. It even threatened I would lose my 2 seats when I went to get my credit card to pay. Printed out my tickets and showed up at 7:40 for the 8:00 show. The lady who looked at my tickets said ""You are going to be surprised"". Didn't know what she meant until we rounded the corner and saw the crowd all standing in front of the stage. Not one single seat. When I went to the front door to see if I could upgrade my tickets the Supervisor told me there was no re-entry if I left. I told her my intentions and she looked at my ticket and said it shows GAFloor right on my ticket. What part about floor didn't I understand. I told her the part about Row 26 and seat 12. Seat meant a place to put your seat. She disagreed. Said I could not re-enter if I left. Went back to my wife and the lady who had checked my ticket told me people left all the time if you were going to your car or the ATM. You just unscan your ticket to leave and re scan to return. Had the tickets been $35, or said SRO, I would have worn more comfortable shoes or just declined to go. Everyone around us was complaining. Not sure what we could have done to prevent this. It was simply management taking advantage in my opinion. Won't be returning to Verizon for sure. Rob Thomas was great. Pros: Intimate arena Cons: No seat more

Very Dissapointing 4/30/2009

I went to verizon last night with some friends to see CAKE. The show started really early -8pm which was a little dissapointing as its hard to make it down there in time after work. I think there may be a city ordinance about sound after 10 or 10:30 in that area. The bathrooms were kind of gross, and I was shocked to see only one bartender working at a bar with three people behind it and one incredibly long line for beer. Seriously? Do you even want to make money at your venue? Pros: Good Sound Cons: Poor facility more

Verizon is weak Venue 1/12/2009

Would not recommend the Verizon for any show or event. The place was a mess.....restrooms were broken and the floor was nasty. The seating for cheech and chong was a joke. They did not manage the people flow and there folks up and down the aisle during the show. The sound system was weak and have no future plans to visit this place! Pros: nice location downtown Cons: smell, seating, restrooms, sound, etc..... more

Not A Bad Set Personal Venue 12/4/2008

I love the concerts here and i agree with the others there is not a bad seat in the house. Also as far as dirty if we all use trash cans and not the floor it would not be dirty in the first place. I think the close seats and close quaters give it a very personal experience and you get to the artist up close. Love going here especially with the Hard Rock right next door for dinner and drinks before the concert. Pros: Every Seat Is A Great View Cons: Not very comfortable seata more

Best Venue 7/8/2007

This is my favorate place to goto a show. And to that guy that said the woodlands pavilion is th best place in Houston was completely WRONG, who wants to watch a show through binouculars and rain? The Verison sound was awsome from where I was at every show I've gone two, and It is a very clean venue. At the concerts I went to it did get dirty towards the end, but be realistic people, it is impossible to keep that entire place clean with that many people there. Also, the place would stay clean if you picked up after yourself so, don't go calling a place dirty if your the slob that made it messy! Pros: Good clean venue Cons: Beer prices more

Good concert venue 4/4/2007

The seats are good. The sound system is good. The lighting set-up is below average. It could be cleaner. Parking is a pain. Pros: good sound Cons: could be cleaner more

eh... 7/22/2006

I went to Verizon Wireless to see Seether and Shinedown back in January 06. The show was great, the bands preformances were top-notch, but the the VWT wasn't. The place was just nasty!! The only thing I enjoyed from the facility is the fact that there are no bad seats, vision wise. They are crampt and very uncomfortable for a long show. The facility can really drag down a performance. Pros: Sightlines Cons: Acoustics, comfort, and cleanliness. more

Worse Downtown Experience!! 3/22/2006

The seating in this theater reminded me of parent's day in an elementary school. Cramp, close seating with short leg space. Most uncomfortable experience in a long time. Combined with the poor audio system it was difficult to enjoy the play. So much so, that we left during intermission of Casino's opening night. In my disappointment, this experience was immediately shared with my wide email network. My rating for this theater is a MINUS 5! Pros: temperature setting Cons: small seats, narrow seats, uncomfortable seats more

HANG ON THERE...... 1/9/2003

Look here people.... The No-Camera Policy is put up by the band. They call that rule day of the show. Plus do you want you favorite band getting blinded and then fall off the stage.....END OF SHOW. The sound needs some working on. The security guys do THEIR job well. They don't tell you how to flip THEIR burgers at your line of work? Searching at the front door is a MUST now a days. Anyone remember 911? You can't be too laxy-daisy now a days. That's all I have. For NOW. When the ticket says SHOWTIME 8 P.M. that does not mean get there at 8:30 and wonder why they started EARLY? Pros: STAFF Cons: SOUND more

Basketball Gym 10/27/2002

Its like a High School Gym. Verizon has poor sound poor seating bad sightlines dirty bathrooms and its expensive. Houston has very few good places to hear music. The best is the Woodlands Pavillion. How much did the people at The Verizon pay to have it chosen as the editorial best. Pros: good shows Cons: sound, sightlines, price more

The Best 7/18/2002

The best place in Houston to see live music. There is not a bad seat in the house. Also, a great place for a party. more
