My wife likes Mexican food. She'd eat it for dinner every day if my wussy Canadian stomach could handle spicy food.
We were told about Veracruz by some friends that live not far from the place. We checked it out one day on a whim and boy are we glad we did. Even for someone like me who isn't that fussy about Mexican food, this place was great.
Service at Veracruz is incredibly fast. These people know food. We've been back several times, and for the price, we can't beat it.
When we've walked into Veracruz, we've been seated within moments, and free chips and salsa are quickly served along with beverages. Alas, no free refills on soda, so they loose half a star for that.
Their menus are hand-drawn and flimsy, and sometimes hard to read, so they lose another half star. A little more detail on the differences of the different kinds of food would be nice on the menu too since I'm a little shy to ask those kinds of things.
The prices are great though - my wife and I can stuff ourselves for under $10 total. Their portions are huge and the quality as I've mentioned a few times is outstanding.
The last time I went alone, and picked up an order to go, and the restaurant had a mariachi band going from table to table singing songs, although the place is small so it's easy to hear live music from anywhere in the building.
