Our car club does a dinner once a month. I called three weeks in advance. The person on the phone stated he would fax over a menu and to please have everyone pre-order. I received the fax and had everyone pre-order. There was no mention on the menu that salad or soup came with the meal, there was no mention on the phone to make sure to include salad or soup. There were several phone calls back and forth to confirm the dinners. I was told that salads were going to be served to all. I asked if we could have half salads and half soups. The answer was no. Okay no problem. Once we arrived I explained that I had received a phone call that three of the members called me on the way over and were not able to make it. That seemed to be no problem. Once the salads came out we had one person ask if they could please have soup because she cannot eat lettuce. They gave her soup. Great!! But the man sitting next to her asked if he could have soup due to some dental work done that day, OH NO, We cannot do that. They were sitting next to eachother. Then when the food finally came out 1 1/2 hours later (remember we pre-ordered) I was told that we would have to pay for the three people who did not show up. I stated, no and that I wanted to speak to the manager. The waitress, who never smiled, said she would talk to the manager. The manager never came out. I was also told that we had to order drinks through the waitress and not to have the people go to the bar to order their drinks. The waitress rarely came in to take drink orders. That is why they went to the bar. Once dinner was over and I got the bill I noticed that each dinner was 2-3 dollars more than what the menu stated and usually when there is 10 or more people the tip is 18%, this was 20%. I went to the waitress and asked why we were being charged 2-3 more per meal. I was given the explaination that I was given the ""to go"" menu and that I should have come in and gotten the regular menu and given the pre-order at that time. I was never told in the phone calls that this was the ""to go"" menu. It also does not state on the menu that it was a ""to go"" menu. I went back to the group and two other members went back and stated that this was not the prices we had and that it should be what we were given. After a long discussion the manager changed it and asked that we never come back again. Trust me we wont. Too bad for them because we had a few ""important"" people in our group that do alot for Benicia and Vallejo.
Pros: Good food
Cons: Poor service from all including manager
