Venezia Ii

If you've never tried Venezia II - you're missing out on a terrific meal in a cozy atmosphere! It's a great place to enjoy delicious freshly-prepared italian food with family and friends. We live on the northshore but try to get to Venezia II as often as possible. The lasagne is out of this world (ask for extra red sauce... or ""red gravy"" as we say here in Louisiana) and the italian salad is wonderfully light and very garlicky (which I love!) and be sure to order the garlic cheese toast - it's perfectly toasted and loaded with cheese (and great for dipping into your extra red sauce!). The hand tossed pizzas are quite good too. The atmosphere is family-friendly but kind of ecclectic too (for your grown-up outings). The wait staff is very friendly - and if you're not a local.... you'll want to go to experience a typical New Orleans-style eaterie and to hear the local dialect... ""dawlin' ""! We eat at Venezia II often. Everything I've ever gotten was good. My son enjoys going there also but the last time we went he wasn't satisfied with his ribeye steak (he said it was too fatty). Besides that one time I have never been disappointed. My kids usually get the pizza and I've tried numerous things on their menu and enjoyed them. The place itself is kind of a local hangout type place. It is very casual which with 3 kids in tow is fine with me. The staff is friendly and quick. The price is reasonable but if you plan on going on a Friday evening or Saturday night be prepared to wait awhile. You will have to wait outside too but they do have plenty lighting (because the area isn't the great) and usually a policeman is out in front on detail. Pros: good food, fast service Cons: you will wait outside for a table when busy more
