If you want to live in the future and you appreciate beautiful design shop here. The store has limitied hours but is worth waiting for. I couldn't afford the bookcase I was in love with but found the perfect lamp and pillows that pulled my ikea reality up to repectable. I love this store. more

Modern Furniture 11/11/2005

This place is the coolest. It offers a good redux selection of furniture, art, lighting and accessories in the "modern organic" vein. They have a fabulous website that shows you the rest of everything they have - including outdoor, bedding, rugs, etc. They are really nice and laid back when you go into the store which I like but keep in mind, what you see there is just a sampling of what they make available. Also, they have art shows from time to time so get on their mailing list so you can see the art collections in person. more

My favorite furniture and home decor store in Seattle 4/5/2005

As an interior designer, I've found it challenging to locate modern home furnishings and cool home accessories in Seattle. But I love Velocity! This store looks like it should be in New York or LA. It has unique furniture lines and home accessories that I don't find anywhere else in Seattle. The selection and range is huge. Unlike some other contemporary stores in this city, the staff are friendly, with no attitude. There is a really good eye behind this collection. I go there when I'm looking or for inspiration or for what's new and hip. Also a good source for affordable original art and for classic modern furniture.
