Rescued two kittens from a storm drain and took them to VCA to get shots. I thought they would get all their shots but when my mother in law returned home she said they told her the kittens had to be 12 months to get rabies shot. One of the cats at nearing twelve months got bitten by another animal and upon taking them back to VCA was told that our loving LILO would have to be quarantined for 6 months or put down. They called the Columbia County Animal Control to tell them we didn?t get its shots. I have paid them out the for all our other animals and if they hadn?t said they had to wait until 12 months we would have gotten them sooner. They gave us wrong information which caused us to lose one of our most beloved animals. I will never go back. We are animal lovers and need to find a vet and not just a vet but a staff that is concerned and makes sure the info is correct and that will care about us and our pets. We are only probably one of their best customers since the Weimaraner we rescued has epilepsy and we pay for constant blood tests and phenobarbital and potassium bromide pills from them. We have cried all day over our loss, we had him put down because keeping him in a box for six months that he could have no contact with any person or animal would have been inhumane, he would have gotten no exercise had to stay in his own feces and couldn?t do that to him. I hope your happy VCA. Thanks for your crappy service. Not even an apology or sorry we screwed up. All we got was we NEVER would tell anyone that.
