I actually liked the place. There was a sincere concern for my dog, although he had to be put down. They let the whole family call about their concerns and none of us were rushed or treated as though we were a bother. My dog was older and had a personality of his own but that did not deter them from treating him special. I believe all vet services are high everywhere and their costs were around what I expected, especially in an emergency situation that your regular vet can't handle. I loved the staff. And I received a beautiful card with notes from the staff that really made me glad that my dog was surrounded by people who truly loved animals. I would highly recommend them. more

If it's not a life or death emergency then WAIT. They are a total rip off. They play on your emotions with regard to your pet. They count on your compassion as they are the only late nite option in this area. Way over priced along with a condescending tone when discussing your options. They wanted 697.00 to cleaned an open sore and prescribe antibiotics for my dogs tail. That was after they gave an estimate of over 917.00 for X-ray and cleaning the sore. Use only for absolute emergencies only!! more

pay triple (or much much more!) for half the service 8/5/2012

This place is horrible! They prices are ridiculous and they try to sell you on running every test possible - why? Because they think if you are in there for emergency services you won't go anywhere else. Granted, most vets are closed on Saturday but I wouldn't go here again unless it was the last place available. Not to mention - it was way far out. \r Price comparison from Indian Head Animal Hospital (almost had the same thing done last year for a different pet): IHAH Office Call: $50. VCA: $130 (granted I expect to buy a little more for a Saturday but that is ridiculous). IHAH antibiotic injection: $22, VCA: $49. IHAH: Clavamox 62.5mg $23.20 (24count) VCA: 37.17 (20 count - even less quantity and still way more!). \r \r Most of the people were rude and the vet spent little time with us. One "tech" didn't know what the heck she was talking about and was rude on top of it. Another "tech" admitted she didn't know, but was at least polite and said she would go ask the vet (though w more

Wonderful Place 9/17/2010

I have to admit I am biased about this animal hospital.\r \r I've had to take two dogs in for emergency care. They are thorough, thoughtful and compassionate. Everyone is. I don't think they have a bad apple in the bunch.\r \r My most recent experience was when I had to put my 18-year old cat to sleep. They were understanding and very sympathetic. They made the experience much easier than it could have been.\r \r Whenever I go here it is never something good, but they are the kindest bunch of animal medical people I know. They even sent me a sympathy card.\r \r They are a bit pricey, but that is because they are so good. I may not have liked what it cost me to take my dog there after she got into a stash of chocolate, but I knew she was in very capable hands. more
