Poor program for depression and anxiety! 6/25/2013

The facility does not have adequate programs for adults with anxiety or depression even theugh they admit persons for such. As such a patient, I was required to participate in programs for young girls with eating disorders and people with addictions to drugs and/or alcohol. I have none of those issues. Mine was depression. Plain and simple. I was treated as a child even though I was 55 at the time. I was told to pull my mattress off my bed and onto the floor in the hall to sleep even though I have asthma and the hall is carpeted and dusty. The food is a joke. I was hungry constantly because they feed you like the little girls who have eating issues. All the food seemed to be boiled broccoli, boiled chicken breast, and a 1/2 cup of salad every day! Breakfast was cereal and a fruit. lactose intollerant here so was told to use juice in my cereal. Diabetic, so coldn't have the juice. The young girls seemed to love it there because they were the center of attention there and not at home. They spent their time in groups and coloring in books or putting together puzzles. They didn't have a program for depressed individuals, so they suggested I participate in the programs for substance abuse just to be with people, "and who knows, maybe you will get something from it?" I bet they didnt'say that to my insurance co. They certainly didn't say that to me during registration. Whiel there, they had a sweage problem backing up into the laundry room. The smeel was sickening inside the facility. It took 3 days for them to get it looked at. We were all forced to use the same toilet during the day. I su[ppose that'sok for young people, but older folks knwo that's just filthy. I cannot recommend this facility for anyone with depression or anxiety. They have people who come back for day treatment who appear to have a dependency on the facilty, not so much a will to get better and depend on themselves. very sad. My honest opinion is the facilty is there for the insurance money and the staff is there until they can find a good job more

Be very afraid! 4/6/2013

This place is a joke. They have people sleeping on mattresses and in chairs in the hallways because they are too lazy and inept to watch them in their rooms. They treat the patients like children...oh wait...most were children and mixed with adults. how can that be efficient? I was in there for Depression medication stabilazition and they stuck me on a unit with Anorexic girls. I'm an old woman and have no problem eating my meals. Their idea of treatment is coloring books, puzzles and painting nails. My Asthma was so bad there from all the smokers and purfumes that I checked out early. And talk about HIPA VIOLATIONS!!! Their so-called medical doctor who provides physicals for people when they arrive sat me in a chair in the TV room with others all around and listened to my chest and lungs and asked me questions about my medical history...in front of others. What a QUACK?!?!?! I thinnk its just a place to drain our medical insurance providers. more

the truth 12/12/2011

The women's unit at Ridgeview is a complete joke. I work at this hospital and mostly on this unit. I suffer from an eating disorder which has reached the point to where I cannot refrain from acting on it even while working this unit. They have completely failed to see all of the signs even though they work closely with them everyday....including my rapid rapid weight loss. This unit has unqualified and unofficially trained CAs running groups they have no buisness running. The staff members on this unit constantly joke at the expense of their patients and say horrible things behind their backs. The attitudes and actions of the staff members on this unit have made me completely lose faith in the one field that used to be my passion. more
