I was involved in group therapy with Diane Vanucci for about one year. Over time, I met several other women who had also been hurt by Ms Vanucci's professional flip-flopping between feigned, sugary, sweetness and rude, incisive, aggression. All of these women had suffered terrible trauma and needed a kind, skilled therapist. Unfortunately, Ms Vanucci either couldn't or wouldn't show any empathy or respect to these frightened women who were desperately seeking a safe place to work through crippling, emotional pain. Rather than offering encouragement and support, Ms Vanucci often preyed upon our collective vulnerabilities and routinely shamed us with degrading, insolent taunts. One day, a scared, soft-spoken woman was speaking for the first time about her painful victimization. When she paused, overwhelmed by tears, Ms Vanucci humiliated this woman by scornfully telling her that she needs ""to learn to speak like an adult."" To another, she cruelly asked: ""Why are you telling this to me?""
