When my college break began, I had no idea where I would get a summer job. I knew someone who got a job through Vanguard Temporaries/Westchester and I went to apply for a job. Everyone was super nice and I wound up getting a great job that has lasted the whole summer! I am earning great money, love my job, and I work close to home at a great company in Stamford! I would definitely recommend Vanguard Westchester to all college students or to ANYONE who needs a job. \r Thank you Vanguard for the best job I ever had! Vanguard temporaries in westchester is the first agency that I find to be VERY unprofessional. To start when you first walk in these ""women"" and I use that term lightly will look at you like you are a low life person. They ask you for your social to fill out an application (lets note that its not even a guarantee you will get a position, let alone a call) and when you refuse nicely not to give it to them, they come at you so disgusting with attitude. I was sitting there filling out an application and I could overhear them bashing all their clients that they deal with!! SO UNPROFESSIONAL!! Calling them all kinds of names.. They even have a girl that works there that is working under a false name... I wonder why? Maybe she has a record or something. I wouldn't want my social and important information in their hands. When I realized how these people worked, I told them that I was not interested in filling out the application. And behold they wouldn't ""allow"" me to take my personal information that I put on the application. I told them I wouldn't leave unless I saw them shed my information. Tip for everyone, just stay away from that place! Do good research on places before you decide to hand over your personal information. more

Vanguard Temps is a real job placement agency - they placed me at my current job 8 years ago. So many supposed employment agencies post numerous job opportunities online, only to have you go to their offices and spend valuable time registering with them, only to find there are no real jobs available! This is common in NY. But Vanguard is different. They are not only upfront about what positions are actually available (and will tell you if there is nothing), but they will help you boost your office software skills in their office, and help you polish your resume if needed. They want to place you and do everything they can for you to help you get a good job. I highly recommend Vanguard above ALL the others. more

I moved to New York after my husband got out of the military in 2007 and both of us were looking for work. After only being here a couple of weeks I looked in to temp agencies. The very day I submitted my resume from monster I received a call from a counselor. I went in right away to register and left the same day with a job!! As soon as my first assignment, which was a temp assignment, ended Vanguard immediately found me a position at a very large corporation with even better pay. Not long after they also found work for my husband! The counselors are professional, friendly and helpful and they even have free computer training in their office! I STRONGLY recommend this agency to anyone in search of work, they have jobs in a lot of places other than Westchester too! more

I had just graduated college and had no idea how I would get a job. A friend suggested that I try Vanguard in White Plains, because they helped his girlfriend find her job. I finally went to check it out and found the ladies there to be interested in my career search. They made helpful suggestions to me about my resume and gave me some interviewing advice. Then they found me a job. My temporary job will be turning permanent (after 2 months) on 9/8/09!! I will send every one I meet who doesn't have a job to Vanguard. Pros: The people really care more

I was just out of school and hadn't found employment. The people at Vanguard were very professional and very helpful. They always got me work in my field. I made alot of contacts, got experience, and went from a temporary to permanent position. I love my job, and I can't thank Vanguard Westchester enough! Pros: You can train in their offices. I had just moved to Weschester and i saw an ad in the paper for Vanguard and i decided to call. When i went in for my interview i had to take various test. I did not do great on my computer test so i got really nervous. I met with the counselor who was able to see potential beyond the test. I walked out of the interview and as i waited for my cab to arrive i was called. They had found me a job within a matter of minutes. As time went by i found that permanent job that makes me look forward to my next day there. THANKS VANGUARD! more
