Valley Medical Excellent Teacher 6/23/2009

My teacher Michelle was so amazing she just made the class so interesting and easy to learn. She made sure there was an example for everything she taught. I had a fear of the CNA course from previous schools but she helped me overcome that fear. Even the clinancal part of the program was amazing. I thank God for the teacher Michelle from the Valley Medical. Pros: Good teacher Cons: There is noneif your willing to learn. more

  • Valley Medical Institute provides career training to students that are motivated, caring, and have a strong desire to help others. Course work is designed to enhance the earning potential of all our students throughout their medical and dental careers. We provide theory as well as practical, hands-on experience through role-playing of real-life situations. These techniques are required for a wide range of multi-skilled positions from our Patient Care Technician course to our Dental Assistant course to our nurse's aide (CNA). Our students are real people with real-life schedules. Therefore we arrange our program schedules to fit their needs. So their agendas will not stop them to starting their career training or enhancing their earning potential. Courses are offered at two locations, either the Bridgeport, CT campus or Waterbury, CT campus, and are offered in a variety of different class times (days, evening, afternoons and Saturdays) to accommodate these schedules. Work experience is essential to a career. Valley Medical Institute gives a jump start through a combination of in-class learning and hands-on work experience. In many instances where we can accommodate, we offer externships that provide superior hands-on experience. Many of the courses offer similar opportunities to utilize the skills and theories learned in actual scenarios. Furthermore, the interaction amongst students and professors provides valuable resources and connections that will last an entire career. Valley Medical's nurses aide program is designed to prepare the students to function in a traditional nursing assistant role in a nursing centers such as hospitals and nursing homes. VMI believes that a legal and ethical necessity exists to provide students with the necessary education and training for safe, effective, and sensitive functioning within the health care industry. Our focus is on nursing assistant skills and functions, safety, and a psychosocial approach to resident care. The course, which is 100 hours in length, includes forty hours of classroom or didactic theory and sixty hours of hands-on or clinical training. We offer day, evening, or weekend classes. We run these courses every month. We find that the hours and flexibility of our courses fit into most people's schedule. The course, approved by Connecticut Department of Higher Education and Connecticut Department of Public Health, has been approved since 1994.
