Valentino's

We recently had our wedding reception at Valentino's. We had a non-traditional reception; more of a swanky cocktail party in the Martini Lounge. We couldn't have been more pleased with the management, service, food, and overall outcome of the event. Thanks Mary and Ed for all your help in the preparation and planning. Adam and Michelle more

It would appear that Valentino's has a large problem with stolen purses. I had my purse set on a ledge next to me on 7/11, I was approached by about 7 women and as one started a conversation with me in order to distract, her friends made off with my bag. I reported it to the DJ right away and my boyfriend alerted the bouncers. One bouncer admitted that it happens frequently and it would be found in the bathroom. And it was, sans cash, credit cards and my camera. Obviously it was a planned maneuver and I have highly discouraged people from going to this bar in the future. We were taken here on a party bus and none of us will ever come back. I can say that I do appreciate that the DJ made an announcement right away and that the bouncer we dealt with was extremely empathetic which I am sure comes with all the practice he has had with situations like this. My couple friends of mine went and feel in love, one fell in love with the setting so much that she planned to have her after party there the night of her brunch wedding in May. After talking with the managment it started looking less apealing. First the rep didn't have any idea of how to set up a room for her and told her she would have to come in a on sat night to speak with a night manager (its a sat night, now way is a night manger going to have time to talk to a bride about reserving a room for 50 people in may) nor will they have time to cordinate with the other vendors. Then after she worked out the details her self and called to confirm that everything was in place no one would return her call. Its been months and still noone will return her call. She isn't a bridezilla is just an after party for her sorority sisters and her husbands college friends and some family.....apparently they don't want her money or the revune that 50 people will bring in, without any advertising. The managment needs to get their act together on event planning, its not that difficult. Any venue should be able to work with this, its good buisness and money in their pockets. I have been to Valentinos many times. The place is one of the bigger clubs in town. The service usually is ok, the waitress come around with the shots enough. The dress code is strict, you can't wear a dress hat (what the hell). They are super picky about sneakers as well even if they are clean. However a female can get in wearing anything, and unlike minneapolis the females don't dress (nor look) up to par. Sometimes its poppin with the crowd, sometimes its not. Last two times I went it was dead as hell. This place is good though if you like top 40 music and big country girls. I like it cost the cover is cheap and its close bye. This place is kinda stifled. Top 40 music plays and the dance floor is small, drinks watered down. It is a very nice place though (used to be an old mansion), with nice lounge areas and the bathrooms are awesome, and parking is just across the street and free, but--I'd rather pay for parking and more expensive drinks downtown Minneapolis than party here. Pros: Nice bathrooms! Cons: Small dance floor, bad music more
