We hired Vacuvent Indoor Air Quality Specianlist after seeing an add in our local newspaper (The Daily Sun). The add read $25.00 for the first 5 ducts with a charge of $ 7.00 for each addtional, with free A.C. inspection and free dryer vent cleaning. The technician said we had mold in our air exchanger and coil and he could resolve this issue for $300.00, to which we agreed. He also suggest we purchase an electorstatic air filter for $220.00 and he would treat the ducts with a solution to kill any bacteria. Our total changes were $900.00. He said he didn't have any filters with him but he would order one and we should get it within 6 weeks. This service took place on Sept. 12, 2012 and we have never gotten the filter. Furthermore when I called the phone number on our receipt I got a recording stating the number is no longer in service. His cleaning of the ducts consisted of putting a 6 inch vacuum tube up to one duct and the disinfecting was a solution in a spray bottle which it sprayed into that duct. I have done extensive investigation of this company and have discoved many compliants to BBB and a web site pissedconsumer.com. The company is now rated F on BBB. I have opened a case with Senior's v.s. Crime here in The Villages Fl. and with the Lady Lake Sheriff's department. VacuVent has several listings within Florida and every phone number listed to VacuVent are no longer in service. I attemped to recover the cost of the filter by sending a letter to the gentleman who's license was listed in the newspaper add. He replied stating he revoked his license with VacuVent in June 2012 and since my service was in Sept. he wasn't responsible. I have also discovered that VacuVent is advertising as Clean Air By Design and Clean Vent. Currently our newspaper has an add which offers 5 ducts of $25.00 and $7.00 for each additional with Free A.C. inspection and free dryer vent cleaning. This add is for ADVANTAGE Air Conditioning at 888-998-6715. I highly suspect this is the same people. more

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND IT SUX!!!!! THEY CALLED MY PHONE FROM SOME 800 NUMBER AND LIKE AN *** I ANSWERED, THEN THEY MAKE U LISTEN TO THIS LONG SPEECH ABOUT HOW "GREAT" THE CLEANING AND THAT THEY WILL GIVE U AN ESTIMATE WHICH IS ALL I ASKED FOR AAAAAAND IT WAS UNDER $200, THEN THEY FORCE YOU TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT THE NEXT DAY SO THEY CAN COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND SCAM YOU OUT OF MORE MONEY, ALL I WANTED TO HAPPEN WAS TO GET MY VENTS CLEAN BUT THEN MY TOTAL COMES TO ABOUT $1600 WHICH THEY TOOK FROM MY CARD AFTER TELLING ME THE LIE ABOUT THE ESTIMATED PRICE SO OF COURSE I WAS OVER DRAFTED AND THEY DONT DO REFUNDS FOR WORK THEY DONT EVEN DO. THEY SAY THEY FOUND A DEAD RODENT IN MY VENT AND HAD TO USE SOME SORT OF SOLUTION AND THEY SOLD ME A BOTTLE THE REASON FOR THE HIGH COST BUT I NEVER EVEN GOT MY BOTTLE. THIS IS NOTHIN BUT A SCAM!!!! ANYONE CAN STICK A VACCUME HOSE IN A VENT AND CALL IT CLEAN!!!! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS PPL!!! more

this company is operating a scam, they offer duct cleaning for a low $25.00 but once in your home they will attempt to jack up price into the thousands, they will claim you have mold and many other issues with you a/c and duct system. this is a scam, they use a telemarket phone room to find customers. beware of this company and watch your money. they are not BBB approved as they claim and have several complaints filed againest them. they also do not like to pay their employees. again beware of this company and avoid at all costs. more

telemarket company, 100% scam operation, promises one price and then trys to jack up cost by putting fear into customers minds, not a valid company, rip off pros. does not due work as promised, does not pay employees. this company should be shut down. more

Do not feel happy with Vacu Vent. Sebastian. Difficult to reach and impossible to speak to person in charge. Did business with them 3 times, last time they came for simple job but performed bad. We paid too much. W i m more

Thre previous reviewer got off easy! I spent $2099 and it took me four months and numerous phone calls before I got any service. Every time I was told my filter and UV light would be delivered by that Friday. Of course, it never was. The next Monday when I would call, I would be told again it would be delivered by the next Friday. That happened week after week. I did eventually get my filter and UV light installed, but they had my $2099 for four months when I could have been earning interest on that money. I feel I am entitled to some of my money back but that will never happen. I do not feel the UV light or filter is worth even 10% of what I spent. I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB of Central Florida, but VacuVent simply failed to respond, so my case was closed. I feel like a total idiot, but have no recourse left if the BBB can't even help me. The only satisfaction I can get is to warn as many people as I can to stay as far away as possible from this company. PLEASE --Do not think about spending even a penny with them. You will certainly regret it. I know I do!!!! I am being forced to rate this company at least one star. If it were possible to rate them a negative number, I would do so!. more

i ordered and paid $150 for a washable electrostatic air filter from Vacu Vent over 3 months ago and have nothing to show for it. calls to the company are useless. they always claim not to have a manager handy and say they'll get one to call me, but the call never comes. these folks had their BBB Accreditation revoked about a month ago and have a rating of "F" from the BBB. don't waste your time of money on these crooks! more
