12 years and still going to PVHC 11/29/2010

I have been taking my dogs & cats to PVHC since I moved to CT 12 years ago. I think they are compassionate and knowledgeable. I have had to put down a senior dog and they were wonderful during the process of me trying to make that final decision. I have also had a few emergency type situations and they handled it with great professionalism. Last Sunday, my Golden Retriever, Grady, got into some rat poison and it was about 1/2 hour before they closed (yes they have Sat. & Sunday hours now) and they had me bring him right in. They called two poison control centers to make sure that they were doing the right thing and waited with him for over 2 hours after giving him meds. We finally were sent home around 4:00 (2 hours after closing) with explicit instructions. The Dr. even called me the next day to see how he was doing, which was great. This same dog ate a corn cob previous to this and through on-line discussions, we monitored him for possible blockage. So, I have nothing but goo more

Our Small Animal Vet Clinic 7/22/2010

I've taken our cats, dogs, and ferrets to Plainfield Animal Hospital for about 20+ years. I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable, courteous, and gentle with our pets. We've had some scary situations, serious illnesses, and the vets were quite competent, once staying way after hours to take care of our very loved dog. We like all the vets there ... including Dr Gluck who we found to be very pleasant and kind to our animals. And when it was time to put our family dog down at the age of 17, he was extremely compassionate. Dr Fuller is a wonderful vet, and I always look forward to seeing her at the clinic because I've known her so long. Very thoughtful vet, very thorough. \r I recommend this clinic to all our friends and they seem quite happy with the care their pets get. more

Dog owner knows the biz 1/13/2007

My son is a good friend of the Plainfield Vet owner, a guy who made it through his undergrad work at the University of Connecticut in three years, attained a Doctor of Veterinary medicine from the University of Wisconsin and went on to achieve licensure in Florida, California and Connecticut before taking the reins at P.V.H.C.\r \r I am a maxillofacial surgeon at a major city hospital, and owner of 8 wily and incestuous Dachshunds who are rife with genetic abnormalities. As a result, I have spent many a weekend driving out to the country for a myriad procedures, ranging from castration to general preventive medicine. \r \r I recommend PVHC for anyone who is serious about giving their animal(s) the highest quality of care, state of the art techniques and equipment, and near-omnipotent diagnoses.\r \r Best,\r \r Dr. M.S. more

Exceptional service, 1/13/2007

When my Bull Mastiff, Rocky, ate (yes, this is true) my son's soccer shin pad , Plainfield Vet took excellent care of my "best friend".\r \r Rock eats most anything laying around the house, he's a good buck sixty five, so we never know what he's gotten into until it comes out the other end, or, in this case, he starts to throw it up (a sound is like a grizzly bear on a rampage) as he did with smaller fragments of the pad.\r \r The technicians at PV were kind and knowledgeable, and the vet (a guy who looks like Russell Crowe) just shook his head at me. I guess they see this kind of thing often. \r \r Rock had to be operated on, to remove the indigestible parts of the pad, and an E-collar (that plastic neck lampshade thing) later, he was back in action.\r \r Thanks, Plainfield Vets!\r \r J.R. more

Great...and my puppy was so happy! 9/8/2006

The vet was very thorough and my puppy didn't even cry when she gave him the shots! She was also very knowledgeable. I learned alot about puppies that other vets never told me about. Seems like a very professional place. Needs a bigger sign, though. PROS: Easy to schedule appointment times CONS: Need to watch for the sign carefully more

All I have to say is.......HORRIBLE!!! 9/1/2005

Well, I have nothing good to say about this place....AT ALL. We had a kitten that was sick and they told us to give it pepto bismal........which turned out not to be the best advice. Then we had a dog that was in our driveway that accidentally go ran over, and being that it was an emergency/the closest vet around when it happend, we took her there......After all was said and done, and we took her home, she looked like she was in pain, of course she was, thats what other vets told us. Moral of my long story...........stay far far away! PROS: ABSOLUTELY NONE CONS: HORRIBLE more
