VCA Lakeview Animal Hospital

I've taken all of my animals to Lakeview Animal Hospital, specifically Doctor Clark, over the past two decades. My family has also taken all of their animals to Dr. Clark, and he is by far one of the best, most caring, intelligent doctors I've worked with. He truely loves and cares for animals, and you can tell he loves being a vet. I would recommend him to anyone, he is always careful in check up's and diagnosing concerns/issues. I just took my little Boston in for dental work and a surgical procedure, he did an amazing job and took very good care of her. He even called me personally two days later to check up on her and make sure she was ok, and to also give me the results of her tumor biopsy. more

I have had literally dozens of animals treated by Dr. Dana Clark and Dr. Evan Gubler. From tiny finches to 100+pound dogs. Every animal was treated with kindness and respect and like they mattered. When there was nothing to be done I have seen both Dana and Evan moved to tears. They both really do care about your animals. I moved away several years ago and when I have a problem with one of my animals that no vets in my area can figure out I can call Dr. Clark and he knows just the ticket. He saved my cats life without ever laying eyes on her. She was deathly ill and nothing 2 animal hospitals and 3 vets in my area did was doing any good. I called Dana and explained the problem he told me what medication to get her and in what dose, she was better in 2 days after weeks of suffering. He diagnosed and saved several of my birds. Including a macaw that turned out to be allergic to cockatoos, of all things. What bird is allergic to another bird and exactly how do you figure that out?!!! Dana did. Part genius and part magic, that is what the man is. They cured my dog of breast cancer when she was 11 years old. Most vets would have written her off. Evan did a beautiful job with the surgery and Dana did a fabulous revision of the wound so she did not even have a scar. To the person with the minpin, take responsibility for letting your pet get a hold of your meds. I have owned and fostered dozens of dogs, not one of them has ever gotten into medication. Little dogs are touch and go. Take better care of your pet next time and don't blame the vet that tried to save it. more

I have been going to Lake View for years with several pets. Dr. Clark and Dr. Gubler are very kind, professional, and compassionate. I am very picky about vets and it took me years of trying other clinics before I found and stuck with this one. I have had nothing but good experiences at Lake View and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The facility is clean and nice, the staff friendly and caring, the prices are good, and they always go the extra mile for your animal. They do not try to sell you services, they keep you informed of all options, and they work well with the animals and their owners. I am not sure what happened with the people who left bad reviews, but I am apt to believe that they were the problem and not this veterinary clinic. You can't please everyone, even when you try. more

I took my sisters dog to Dr. Gubler and he killed him through neglect. \r \r Our 8lb Min Pin happened to swallow a cold tablet containing ibuprofen and Sudafed. I was advised to bring the dog in to have them make him vomit and be checked by the Vet. After Vomiting occurred Dr. Gubler decided that putting charcoal into the Min Pin was the next step. Evan after I voiced my concern of this procedure being harsh on the dog due to my knowledge of knowing humans that have had their stomach pumped. He then insisted that we do the procedure.\r \r The dog was then taken back and after an extended amount of time Gubler came out and said we almost lost your dog. My family and I than went back in the room to see the dog gasping for air and falling over attempting to get to my sister. This went on for hours as Gubler talked in circles never controlling the room or advising us on what had happened.\r \r Gubler tortured this perfectly healthy dog for hours and made us watch while he did so. The dog passed after we left due to Dr Gubler forcing a tar like substance into his lungs during a so called ""simple"" procedure. \r \r If you value the life of your pet do not go to this clinic. We have been taking our dog to Lakeview for 3 years now - including grooming and they have treated our dog and us wonderfully. I would fully recommend them. more

I totally disagree with kmclevin's response. I have been taking my dogs and cats to Lakeview for the past 8 years. I took them to other vets before so I know what bad vets are. Lakeview always gets me in as quickly as they can, emergencies are immediate.\r I once was helping someone who couldn't afford a vet and they actually took the person's information and wouldn't let me pay. They covered it.\r \r If I ever move out of northern Utah again, I will be at a loss trying to find someone who cares about my animals as much and follows through on letting me know what is happening and what ALL of my choices are for treatment. more

BY BRENDA W. I have gone to Lakeview Animal Hospital for many years. They have saved my dog Roxy's life,3 times in the three years I've had her because she ate the top off two Binky's and an acorn. Dr. Clark and his staff had to operate on her 3 times. They are very professional, caring , loving and awesome.I wouldn't trust anyone else with my pets EVER. They have always gave me great service. They are not over priced. I WOULD RECOMMEND DR. CLARK TO EVERYONE.Try them you'll LOVE them. more

Unfortunately, we recently had a negative experience at Lakeview Animal Hospital, and have since switched to the University Animal Hospital in Salt Lake. The atmosphere at the University Animal Hospital is much more professional, and the staff there is wonderful. It might be more expensive, but is definitely worth the price of knowing your animals are being well taken care of. more

I think they are an excellent clinic - as a matter of fact, I have never seen such professional care and they have the best dog grooming around. Not to mention they are very well priced. more

I was disappointed to see some negative comments about this clinic. We have two dogs and have gone to them for years. I would NEVER take them anywhere else. I have tried others and have had poor, expensive service and not good care. If you want a kind and caring vet with great service this is where you want to go! more

My Family and I have been coming to Dr. Clark for 25 years, We absolutely LOVE he and his staff. It is unfortunate that there are more bad reviews then good which is why I am writting this. There is no other place we would take our Dogs and are so grateful to Dr. Clark for his kindness and generosity towards our family! He is exceptionlly gentle with our Dogs and they are always excited to see him! We appreciate Dr Clark and his staff and the wonderful services they provide for us! I have noticed in my experiences with the vet clinic that they are overpriced but are not careful with certain procedures - my friend had a bad experience with them, also. Since then, I have switched to Wilson Vet Clinic in Bountiful and have had a wonderful experience there. It it my recommendation to try that clinic, and they are not terribly expensive. more

I had an awful experience at Lakeview Animal Hospital, and would not recommend it as a vet clinic. They do not take the time or precautions that they should with pets. I left devestated; I now understand why their prices are lower than their competetors. I would not recommend this vet clinic. more

I had a terrible experience at the Lakeview Animal Hospital, and will never, ever go back. They are not careful enough with their procedures, and are not communicative when something is wrong with your pet. I would not suggest this vet. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Careless more

I recently bought a new puppy and took her here to have another set of shots. The staff is very friendly. They took a lot of time with me answering all of my questions. They were very gentle with my dog. I especially liked that their pricing is very reasonable, less than a lot of other places. They showed me how to clip my dogs nails and offered several suggestions on how to help potty train her. I will be taking my dog here for all of her needs. more
