Poor care, High Prices 1/26/2011

People reviewing Feline Medical Center, both good and bad reviews, often comment on how high the prices are. I think the fact that money is synonymous with Feline Medical Center should probably tell you all you need to know about this clinic and its priorities, but I digress. My cat almost died under Feline Medical Center’s care, and when I brought up the fact that I was concerned about my cat's deteriorating health, Dr Thompson was nice enough to charge me 40 dollars for the five minute phone conversation I had with him about those concerns. Stay away from this clinic; your cat and your wallet will thank you. more

Greatest cat vets there are. 8/13/2007

My very first visit, I had to take the body of my 16-yr-old siamese to be cremated; I was devastated by loss and the staff and vets were nothing but compassionate, even though they hadn't ever treated my kitty. That was 10 years ago and I've taken all of my 4 kitties there ever since. I've never been let down. The vets are very concerned with the welfare of the animals, they are responsive to questions, they really spend time getting to know the kitties and owners. They even take on patients that other vet hospitals won't. \r They are a bit more expensive than other vets in the area, but it really is worth the care and peace of mind you get. Pros: Vets, quality of care Cons: I do wish they had more hours on the weekends more

  • VCA Feline Medical Center, an AAHA-accredited veterinary facility, is located in the beautiful Caughlin Ranch Community of Reno, on the corner of Caughlin Parkway and W. McCarran Blvd (89519). Our two doctor, full service medical facility is open six days a week and provides comprehensive preventative wellness care, exams, vaccines, routine and advanced dentistry, surgery and digital radiology. We also provide a safe and comfortable boarding facility and offer grooming services. Our caring and skilled staff provide well and sick pet services for cats and kittens, adults and seniors. We carry Hill's Science Diet and Prescription Diets, Royal Canin Therapeutic Feline Diets and a variety of treats. We invite you to visit our 2880 sq.ft. hospital for a tour and to meet our staff and veterinarians. Together we strive as a team to develop a diagnosis and sensible treatment plan for each patient's health care issues. VCA Feline Medical Center was established in 1995 as Reno’s first and Northern Nevada’s premier cat exclusive veterinary hospital. Pursing his passion for all cats, Scott A. Thompson DVM sold his two prior veterinary hospitals in Redding California for one simple reason, “I no longer felt comfortable bringing my own cats to my own hospitals because of the barking dogs!” Dr. Scott A. Thompson selected the Caughlin Ranch Shopping Center facility to bring his now 35 years of Veterinary practice experience to Reno.
