Trust me, do NOT take your pets to this clinic for emergency care! The staff was extremely rude (especially the ER dept manager) and the one ER vet on duty was overwhelmed and didn't explain things very well. I waited a total of over 4 hours in a freezing exam room and saw the vet for about 5 minutes. Said she was coming back but never did so I left. They also could not find the x-rays and exam summary that my referring vet sent them. Charge $106. I took my cat to the Circle City ER and Clinic near 96th and Michigan Rd and was extremely satisfied with the time they spent, their expertise, and their kindness and courtesy. They are everything that the VCA Emergency Clinic on Hague Rd should be but are not. more

My cat should have been recognized as terminal Mar 12 ,2015 , instead it went undiagnosed and I had to put it down myself because it started suffering Mar. 16, 2015 , 5:30 am., What a horrific experience I'll never get out of my mind.. As soon as this VCA found out my cat was dead I received an electronic invoice. I'm thinking play with peoples emotions and drain their wallets is what all these VCA'S are all about . I'm never brining my cats here again , I only have two left. . I lost two cats in two years at this VCA. The first one I think was inadvertently injured at this VCA , to the point that it lost the use of its rear legs and I had to have it put down ,they also lied about it eating while there. , total cost $1100.00 , the second one should have been put down when I suggested it , total cost $267.00 . When a cat quits eating they are dying , period. I don't trust them anymore. You can't really read people's motives but I've got a sneaking suspicion that I'm correct. The love and affection a person has for their pet has no legal standing and some vet's take advantage of this so they string you along drain your wallet and your pet dies anyway. There is a word for that ,it's called immoral. Do your self a favor and bring your pet to a small animal clinic that's not a company . They will tell you the truth and won't take you for a bunch of money. God will make right the wrongs of time. I was told my cat was sick on sun 15th but that was it , no recommendation. when I told VCA that I had to put down my own cat I asked if the recommendation would have been to euthanize her. the answer was yes but this was after the fact. How much do you want to bet if I had not told them my cat was dead I would have been encouraged to bring my cat in for more treatment which means more money. The cat had terminal mouth and throat cancer and it does not seem credible that a vet with expertise in dentistry for small animals didn't recognize that ,but then again there is no money in a dead cat. This particular vet establishment has been a charnel house for my cats. Like I said god keeps a record of everything. more

Over Charge, Under deliver, Terrible Vets 9/10/2008

They entice first time clients with discount coupons but you walk out paying more than other pet hospitals. I had a nightmare experience with them and my cat of 12 years. They quoted $6,7000 to try and save my cat with no guarantee The women Vet was VERY insensitive and laughed at me when having to face putting my cat to sleep. Late on getting blood work back to me and appear to look at animals as fury ATM machines instead of loving pets. They are a chain and all about the money! Not very nice and a little uncomfortable 8/11/2008

Kind of a weird experience. The technicians glared at me, looking me up and down. Felt like I was being judged the entire visit. Some of them were being extremely rude to one of their co-workers which made things very uncomfortable and made me think...if their this rude to someone they work with in front of other people, God knows what they do when they take pets to the back room. Even the Dr made me feel like she had better things to do. I do not trust these people with my girls and will never go back. Cons: Horrible atmosphere. more

I have taken our two cats to VCA animal hospital for over two years now. We originally went here because they provide a free exam on one weekend , but they have turned out to be a great veterinarian! They're very kind and gentle with our very afraid of strangers cat. The hospital is also so clean. Myself and my cats enjoyed a lot in this hospital. The staff is very friendly and we always have a pleasant experience there. The price seems to be right as well! Not too expensive. Overall its a good hospital. more

Nice staff and clean facility 11/18/2005

We have taken our two cats to VCA for over 3 years now. We originally went here because the Humane Society provides a free exam when you adopt a pet from them, but they have turned out to be a great vet! They're very kind and gentle with our very-afraid-of-strangers cat. The staff is very friendly and we always have a pleasant experience there. The price seems to be right as well! Not too expensive. more
