Do NOT go to this place. They are definitely for-profit, greedy folks who do not care about the outcome of the treatment they provide. I wish we would never become their customers in a first place. \r \r Our eight year old Scottish terrier started to limp and we took him to this hospital. Dr. Averill suggested a simple X-ray test of his leg. During X-ray procedure our dog was hurt so much by Dr.Averill that he could not step on the foot anymore. Then we were told that he needs an operation because now the ligament was torn completely. We agreed again. In a conversation about complications of operation we were never told about dangers of anesthesia. Dr.Kenney performed an operation. Our dog died 4 weeks after operation due to the massive liver failure caused by anesthesia. We didn't get any support from the hospital: they right away referred us to the emergency care. Doctors told us that our dog liver was probably not normal from the start. However, he never was diagnosed in this hospital with liver disease and all his blood tests were showing normal levels of liver enzymes before operation. \r \r We are absolutely devastated: we lost the best friend.\r \r We will never come back to this place and will make sure no one else does. more

aggressive terminal cancer denied euthanasia 2/17/2010

I am due an apology from VCA Brown Animal Hospital.\r My beloved cat was diagnosed with an aggressive terminal cancer, adenocarcinoma of mammary gland. VCA refused my family's choice to euthanise her, giving us no other alternative but to relinquish her to human society. I was verbally bullyied by Dr. Emily Cranwell -I believe Dr Tal did her biopsy. I spent over $1,000 in medical fees in a 24 hour period.\r I feel hurt and betrayed- I have brought our animals there for over 20 years. There are unique circumstances for every pet and pet owner. Why after such customer loyalty upon my part, is a living will for my cat denied? Especially, when it was made to me as an option from the beginning. Overall,I felt I was being bullied to continue the costly treatment of my pets terminal cancer, perhaps because VCA Brown Animal Hospital wanted to keep the influx revenue that such a case would provide. \r Fortunately, I have other professional support in the vetrinary field around all of whom more

Excellent Facility 5/23/2005

I had to travel out of the country for a month last year and needed to kennel my dog. On the advice of a friend I contacted Brown's and was really impressed with the experience. My dog was well cared for and I am so glad that I chose this business to care for my best four legged friend. While my dog was a guest at their kennel the staff detected and treated a bladder infection that I was not even aware that my dog had. more
