I took my dog to Dr. Braz for a well-dog check up after getting her from the shelter. I brought her based on the recommendation of a friend and because I had just moved to the area and needed a new vet. I was shocked by several things. One, the cost was outrageous. For several shots and some lab work, I walked out with a bill in excess of $500. I mean, nothing was even wrong with my dog. I would hate to see what they would charge me if I actually had to have my dog treated for something. They even charged me a fee to dispose of my dog's fecal sample - who does that!!! I have had many dogs for over 25 years, lived in 3 states with them and been to numerous vets and NEVER been charged for that. Also, Dr. Braz, in her attempt to be "holistic," was so flaky and strange, I just could not take her seriously. She actually advised me to have my dog sit next to soy products to absorb their aura, or something like that. I am not making this up. Huh?!! It was definitely a weird experience. I went because I very much believe in and respect holistic medicine but this was just hokey nonsense, and at an exhorbitant charge. There are several very good holistic vets in the area, but I'm sorry, I don't believe this is one of them. Just my opinion, for whatever it's worth.
