Horrible prices and very pushy 6/22/2011

My family had gone to alpine for years, but stopped when they changed ownership. The prices were ridiculous and they were really pushy with unnecessary procedures. more

not so good for cats 11/19/2010

Sadly, we agree with most of the negative reviews already written. our cat is our best friend, and while i don't remember the price being out of hand at all (went in the middle of the night), they completely and literally f!#@cked up our cat. she was fine but constipated, due to our mess up and feeding her a low fiber food (which we also found out there and was helpful). but, since they were about to rinse her intestine, were concerned that a sedative would make her more (?) constipated, which seems irrational if they are going to give her an enema. i'm not a vet, so could be wrong. but, not sedating her did not allow her to clean our cat after the procedure. she had enema fluids and all else on her back end (sorry, graphic) and, was still completely healthy with energy to fight off attempts at cleaning (hence, the request for sedative). so, after she developed a life threatening kidney/bladder etc infection, she cleaned herself (normally, a clean cat anyway). 1 month later, our cat is more

Please don't go here! 6/5/2009

Our regular vet was booked and my dog could barely walk so we took him here. It cost me nearly $400 for them to determine his knees were blown out - and then suggest they do a $3,000 surgery to fix them. Pros: Friendly staff Cons: Corporate mindset, WRONG medication, Expensive more

Comprehensive care but very high priced 8/27/2008

In April my cat had a stay at this clinic. I was frustrated with the prices and the communication. I would call, and the assistants would tell me of the improvements he was making. I would then speak with the vet and she would paint a very dismal picture stating once "He may very well die" if we don't place this feeding tube (the assistant had told me a few hours earlier about how he was eating everything in sight-through a syringe). He was with them for four days in two 2-day stints, and even though I was selective with the services it still cost me aprox. $2500.00- This did not include a feeding tube, GI imaging series, or the recommended Internal Medicine consult. This cost reflected hospital care (180 per day), lots of meds, Ultrasound (1) and lab services. I was never given a definitive diagnosis, and was almost felt like they were recommending unnecessary services. I believe they kept my cat alive and he did need the treatment they were providing. I also believe they sinc more

do NOT take your pet there! 6/12/2008

I was extremely disappointed with Alpine Animal Hospital. Our cat had a bladder failure, and was treated at Alpine for 3 days with little improvement. We later transferred him to a different hospital where we found that a urine test, a bladder ultra sound, and draining of the bladder would have allowed them to accurately and effectively treat our cat. Those simple tests and procedures were NOT done at Alpine, instead they proceeded to inject him with expensive medication that cost us $2100 for 3 nights. I felt that basic test would have alleviated his condition sooner and eliminated the need for so many medications. more
