If you can get lucky on the size (the thinner you are, the better your chances), then you can get a real deal here. It's really amazing how much money you can save if you get lucky. Most days you need an appointment, but they also have an open hours time. I find that the staff is a lot more mellow here than at many other bridal shops, and they pretty much leave you alone if that's what you want. They used to carry shoes and headpieces, but I don't think they carry them anymore. There's another bridal place down the street and a place that does alterations across the street, so you can cover a few places with just one stop here (plus pick up something to eat at one of the many places in the neighborhood). Vows Bridal Outlet sells sample designer wedding gowns at marked down prices. They don't have a wide range of sizes, but it is worth checking out if you want a deal on your wedding gown. They also have a web site bridepower.com where you can see the selection and prices of what's available. more

Vows is a wedding dress shop that carries “one-off dresses” – i.e. Samples, Returns, etc. – at deep discounts. The dresses have never been worn in a wedding, and the shop dry cleans them for you at no charge before pick up! I purchased my beautiful, hand-beaded, silk Jim Hjelm couture dress (retails for $3500) for only $299! The store only carries top designers – Monique Lheuiller, Vera Wang, Anne Barge, Carolina Herrera, Reem Acra, Lazaro, etc. – and the selection and prices are unbeatable! more
