Two things that bothered me, but not enough to take a star away. Watch out for Frank Trujillo. He likes to give you the Grandfather talk...it's annoying and boring to hear, aside from that Frank is a good guy, he's trying to help but more often than not his "talk" doesn't help, it just makes things worse. They had a new guy named Mike. He's not been an instructor very long, and so he struggles with teaching backing maneuvers. Mike is a GREAT and FRIENDLY guy, easy to get along with, loves to get to know people and make good conversation, but he's still inexperienced when it comes to teach backing maneuvers. I actually learned my backing maneuvers from one of the other students, because Mike wasn't teaching in a way I could understand. THIS IS NOT a knock on Mike...he just didn't know how to teach me in a way I could understand. If anything, this falls on the school for not having someone out there to help Mike as he is learning how to instruct others. Aside from those 2 things, I had a great time at USTDS, I learned quite well, I experienced some failures, but I overcame them and turned them into successes and I passed my Pre-Trip, my backing maneuvers and my road test and I graduated. They built up my confidence and they eased my fears in regards to driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle for a living. The class is intense, it will wear you out mentally and physically, as it's 10 hours a day, 5 days a week and one week with a Saturday. Don't plan on working a part time job after class is over, because YOU WILL BE TIRED by the end of the day. Expect LOTS and LOTS of repetition. Even when you are doing it perfectly over and over, you'll keep doing it over and over all day long. 10 hours is a LONG DAY to be doing the same things repeatedly. The instructors are disciplined, they demand you to memorize things for your Pre-Trip Test, your In Class Tests so you can pass your CDL Permit Tests and your backing and CDL road test. They will push you to your limits and demand more. When you mess up, they will correct you, but they're there to HELP you, not hurt you or see you fail. Expect to have a bad day, get over it, put it out of your mind and continue FORWARD. Don't give up. One day things will be tough, nothing goes right, you can't figure out how to do it, you think you'll never get it, then the next day, you're like an ace driver, the light bulb goes on and you laugh at yourself for acting silly the previous day. Take the good with the bad, and move FORWARD. USTDS is a great school, they also work with some of the finer trucking companies in the nation, because I had a job offer before I even graduated. Their facilities are nice, some of their trucks need some repairs but they are yard trucks after all. They have diagrams to explain charging systems, airbrakes, and more. They have a very informative textbook, practice tests and quizzes. They make sure you know everything you need to know to pass, graduate and get your CDL. If you're planning on going here, study and go get your DOT Physical and CDL PERMIT BEFORE you start class, that way you're not running around during class time trying to get it. The office staff is very nice and friendly, and helpful. I would go here again in a heartbeat! 9.9/10 rating. more

I went to United States Truck Driving School to learn how to drive the truck, getting my CDL license. The teachers did what they were supposed to but I just expected more professionalism from a school like that. more

I went to United States Truck Driving School thinking I'd make some money. They tell you you'd get a job after completion but you end up getting a minimum wage job working 60-70 hours a week for like $400 a week. If they had told me that, I would have never done it. However, I still enjoyed the school and the driving. They taught me good there. more

Everybody is great. United States Truck Driving School will explain to you everything that is supposed to be explained. With my English, that is not so good, when something is not clear, they explain everything. The teachers are great and everybody is just perfect. I recommend a lot of people to this school. US Truck Driving School is more catered towards putting you on the road as a long haul driver whereas I couldn't find jobs locally. As much as they turn people into this, I wish I would've known I would be doing over the road work not local. If I had known that I would have been discouraged from getting my CDL. Book wise, I was prepared afterwards. I did not feel prepped with the physical driving portion when I was done with the certification though. USTDS has instructors that have the new driver in mind. They are patient and full of knowledge that will help any driver after they graduate and go on in the trucking industry. Mike is a fountain of information, and calm. Ol Norm is a great class instructor. Harold is an excellent instructor, his dedication to trucking may at times come off as intimidating. This is not the case. Bill has some interesting stories and is the keeper of the alley dock. Listen and learn and you will succeed with any of their top instructors. It was a pretty good experience! I enjoyed learning from all my instructors especially norm wigham he was full of info and stories. I was so nervous I failed my first test by hitting a curb but they were happy to retest me 3 days later and gave me lots of instruction on where I went wrong and I passed. I hope whom ever reads this gives this place a chance. You may get frustrated a time or two like I did but the instructors are there for you and will help you succeed even if it kills them the whole staff deffinatly has your future in mind will do most anything to make sure you leave with a CDL. more

i went through the school told them i have a record and a felony they told me that didnt matter. handed me a pre-approved letter from swift. hen i got me license swift said they dont hire felonies. us trucking cares nothin for you dont go to them RESPONSE FROM United States Truck Driving School Inc: Mr.Nuzzo graduated from our Rialto,Ca location in Dec/08. Unfortunately, we have no control over Swift hiring policies. In order to receive a pre-hire letter from Swift, Mr. Nuzzo would have filled out an application disclosing a felony and Swift would not have given him a prehire letter if they were aware of it. Our placement department would have worked with him to find another employer who would accept his application. more

The service from United States Truck Driving School I acquired was good. I liked their exercises during the training process. They exercised patience during the training. I would tell potential customers that it was a good training, though not a great training. more

The school is staffed by individuals who are more like family than employees. They all work together to produce an excellent experience for their students. All of the staff: advisors, instructors, office staff and maintenance staff are top notch. Even the owners are engaged and regularly present throughout the school. I highly recommend USTDS for anyone who desires a first-class training experience. more

I want to personally thank Frank, Crissy, Mike and Kenny for helping me get my class b driver's license. Mike and Kenny, especially, for taking me out and showing me the traits of being an effective driver. You taught me new things and made the pre trip inspection so easy to understand. I had gone to another school and was so disappointed that I thought the hope of getting my license was not going to happen. Crissy calmed me down and talked me through it. Frank got me with the right teachers and now I have been hired on with Aggregate Industries as a Cement Truck Driver, making better than $17.00 an hour with loads of overtime. You, my friends, helped me to get a job where I could make $50,000 to $60,000, my 1st year. WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Attending United States Truck Driving School was a new experience for me. They were pretty good about teaching me how to drive. Some instructors were obviously better than others. It was good. more

United States Truck Driving School is a great school, especially for the price that they offer for the cash option. I don't like their finance program because their interest rates are quite high. As far as the service and the quality of the school, they definitely got me driving better. I was employed within a week after leaving the school, so I'm very happy about that. I would definitely recommend them. If I ever needed more training, I would not hesitate in returning. more
