Falafel anyone? 8/16/2010

Just as my friends and I were bemoaning the decline of kosher restaurants, and particularly in their very epicentre of New York City, a client of mine told me about this place. I decided I’d try it . What a refreshing surprise. The hummus, babaganoush, etc is all homemade and for the price, it’s a steal. (They have a “recession-proof” menu.) more

Warm, Gooey & Fresh Pita Bread! 9/2/2009

I stopped in here for lunch the other day and I absolutely love this place! There are a million places in the city where you can grab a shwarma platter or a kebab sandwich, but this place makes their own pita bread and it's super warm and gooey when they serve it to you. It's the best. They also have very authentic tasting tahina and hummus. I would absolutely reccomend this place. It looks like I'll be eating pita for lunch and dinner now! Pros: Homemade Bread, Reasonably Priced Cons: You haven't gone there yet... more

Terrific Healthy Foood 9/2/2009

MMM I love Urban Pita hummus!!! 8/4/2009

I love Urban Pita. I love Mediterranean food and I come here every time I crave it! The hummus and roasted cauliflower are my favorites!! The staff is friendly and the service is speedy! The best part about Urban Pita is they are opened late. So when I am out and craving a late night snack before I head home I always come here. I love that I finally have a late night food option other then greasy pizza. They are opened until 4 AM!!! Pros: Delicious food and late night hours!!! more

Falafel 4/8/2008

If you want meat, go to Bereket. If you want falafel, hummus, etc go to Ashakara. This is the best falafel I've had in NY. They drop the mix in the fryer when you order. I like the whole wheat pita option too as well as the fixins bar. Pleasantly surprised by the Belgian fries here. Theyre soooo good. I sometimes go in for the fries alone. The staff here has been very nice to me with one exception. And never a line here. Pros: Fresh falafel, Fixins bar Cons: none I know of more

Mmmmhmm 12/7/2007

This place is great all around. Delicious falafel and hummus with all the extras you could ask for - even crazy lookin stuff that I have no idea what it is but I'll try it out. The staff is nice, they take visa, and the place is clean. Perfect spot to grab something to eat before grabbin a drink in the LES. Pros: whole weat pitas Cons: card minimum more
