The popular Urban Outfitters carries clothing and accessories for young men and women, as well as trendy home furnishings, decorative accents, and kitschy toys and books aimed at college students.
I'm not sure sometimes what keeps Urban Outfitters so popular; most of their clothing is ridiculously overpriced for what it is (made in China and typically by some brand you've never heard of). "Vintage" shirts hover around $18 (whatever happened to buying those for a buck at the Goodwill store?) and leather sandals made in India and actually worth around $2 are priced at $35. On the rare occasion I have bought anything there, it has been on sale.
It's not that Urban carries poor products, it's just that none of them are exceptional and you can imagine a million places you could have got them cheaper. My local Urban, in fact, is located next to shops carrying more moderately priced items of similar quality and style. Unless you're there looking for a brand name product you expect to be expensive anyway (LeSportsac or Lacoste, for example), I would suggest shopping elsewhere.
