We would not recommend Upkeepers Inc for any remodeling projects. We contracted with Upkeepers Inc for the remodeling of 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bathroom. Mr. Molidor professes his wealth of experience as a contractor and a notion of partnering with the client on their project. We received his original quote that exceeded our budget and requested options to reduce costs. Originally we planned to have 2 bathtubs replaced with 2 showers with tiled walls and floors and shower seats.
Mr. Molidor suggested we substitute the tiled floors with fiberglass bases and eliminate the shower seats to which we agreed and he provided a revised quote. The next day, he texts me to say he made an error in pricing the changes above and wanted to charge us more. We pondered his request and before we could reply, he texted back to say the price would stand as quoted.
Mr. Molidor texted a picture of what he claimed was his shower with fiberglass base. I will note at this time his picture had a glass shower door so he does know that shower doors are necessary for this shower style. Unfortunately, while his revised quote that allowed us to remain in budget, Mr Molidor woefully under applied allowances for mirrors and did not include shower doors. Not a problem one may think. However, by not providing reasonable allowances for the mirrors or glass shower doors, Mr. Molidor, by contract, gets to tack on an 18% upcharge for exceeding allowances. Such actions by an experience builder who proclaimed to be our partner in this remodeling project is best defined as unscrupulous.
The project took more than 8 weeks to finish. The workmanship was below average to just average. The crew never worked an 8 hour day or 5 days in any week forcing us to live and endure 2 months of dirt and dust. We could continue to cite examples of unprofessionalism and our dismay but tried to succinctly make our point. As we came to learn the hard way, ‘talk is cheap with Mr. Molidor and Upkeepers Inc’.
Disappointed
