As an alumni of UCSD I highly recommend this school! It is not only strong academically, but also located in the beautiful beach community of La Jolla, otherwise known as the "Jewel". There are six different colleges within the campus: Revelle, Muir, Marshall, Sixth, Roosevelt, and Warren. Each college is unique in terms of philosophy, curriculum, and course requirements. Courses unique to UCSD: surfing, Polynesian dance, and gospel choir. UCSD is a great university with much opportunity to grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. There are many opportunities to try different paths and find out who you are. more

beautiful campus 11/15/2005

UCSD, one of the top schools in the nation, is a great place to visit. The campus is very big and beautiful, full of trees, art sculptures, fountains, etc. The best way to get around is to take a campus tour, several are offered daily. There are several places to eat on campus such as rubios, wendy's, jamba juice, etc. The Geisel library is one of the most beuatiful architectual designs ever. it's 8 stories, and ranked as one of the top libraries in the country. from the top floor you can see a breathtaking view of the city. more

We might not have the prettiest buildings.. Or the most brilliant art pieces... or the most traditional or modern looking campus... but we have the best professors! 2 won the noble prize within the last 2 years, and thats only in our econ dept. We have the one of the best reseach facilities in the U.S. We bread true top notch researchers. They prepare all undergrads to be the best Ph.D. students. If your looking for real world experience, go to some state college. Right now, we rank above UCLA ^.~! more

Research university, real life applications lacking 8/15/2005

The highlights of UCSD include its beautiful campus and location, its top notch faculty, and state of the art research facilities. Many of UCSD's programs rank very high on a national and world level. However, the downsides of attending UCSD are the large class sizes, lack of interaction with professors, and lack of real world applications being taught. more
