I have been using this firm for general auto repairs for well over twenty of my 28 years in Charlottesville. During that time, I have encountered nothing less than complete courtesy, knowledge, and care for my vehicle's maintenance. They are like my family doctor -- they have my complete trust and confidence. There have been times where they have looked at a vehicle, and determined no repair was necessary, just a bit of air to blow some dirt or debris -- no charge. And I have had a transmission replaced, which was not cheap, but considerably less expensive than other alternatives. These are good, honest people, and Scott gives it to you straight -- one cannot account for difficult customers who think that they know everything, shop around for a "deal", and get what they deserve somewhere else. If you have a question, this is the kind of place that will give you an answer -- and, honestly, I'd have been all over an estimate that does not make sense to me -- and I've been SHOWN what's go more

I found their drop off and pickup service useful and convenient so I decided to use them for my yearly inspection. My usual practice is to inspect my vehicle for lights, tires and general safety monthly and before taking it in for a state inspection, I've done this for over 30 years. I get the call from airport auto a couple of hours after drop off and they inform me that I'll need to spend about $700.00 to meet inspection. They needed to replace a rather expensive LED light and all four of my brakes needed to be done. I told them not to do anything and I would come pick the car up. The LED light was not working at pick up but was working that morning I knew something was not right. So they gave me a rejection sticker. When I picked the car up they were cool yet apprehensive with me, I think they expected me to argue about their results. I took the same car to a mechanic closer to home a bit less convenient and not on my way to work but I knew to be honest. The results were quite diff more

Airport Road Auto Center is the best place in the area to deal with. I have never found better mechanics that are honest as well. The prices are fair for the area and they always do things right. The shuttle service is a very nice bonus, I don't know anywhere else that does that. One of the best things about them is they treat people with respect. Sometimes hard to find that when dealing with mechanics. Best place I've ever dealt with. more

I had no problem getting an appointment here and even got a ride to work after I dropped my car off. Then, once my day was over, my car was ready to be picked up and they came to work to drive me back to the shop. I question their business practices though because they try to sell products/services that aren't necessary. We had a hard time finding a place that would inspect my newly street legal motorcycle and this shop was willing to do it. PROS: Shuttle service CONS: Questionable Business practices more
