Another kitchen, another great experience. Even when by Miele dishwasher arrived in a perfect box but had a dent on the door they rushed a panel out to me and put it on the same ...

I am very disappointed about the review on this store i found on the internet. It appeared to have good reviews on Yelp *(although later we found out that all the negative review...

Good Experience 4/19/2008

We were very please with the service and the knowledge the sales person had about the Amana Refrigerator we ordered. They did meet our expectations. The are a very good deal. We would recommend them.P.J. was an excellent installer and he answered all our questions more

Don't expect a lot of customer service for what you pay for... 3/11/2008

We found this place through research online. The showroom isn't too bad, and there is a variety of items available to look at. The sales force was engaged, but only after you got one to talk to you (it was busy on Saturday). The refrigerator we bought was the floor model, but it was more or less brand new (no observable scratches on the face of the door, pristine interior). Of course, the price "was right". The sales person promised it would be cleaned and wrapped well for delivery. However, on delivery day, we received this item in a damaged state, with minor scratches and a fairly apparent dent in the door. The fridge had not been wrapped to any degree either, and the bottom freezer door kept sliding in and out as they unloaded it from the truck. Needless to say we rejected the delivery. On a follow up trip back to the store (and another wait), our sales person attributed the problem to bad delivery people, but these are members of their own business and not a 3rd party! In the store, we actually saw them complaining to each other! It was terrible, and showed exactly the type of service that they really provide! At this point a week later, we're still working on getting the refund on our credit card - they appear to be trying to delay repayment for some reason and we were given a receipt which had not transacted (ie. no approval code, etc)! Terrible experience and absolute terrible customer service behavior, but you get what you pay for. We ended up getting our fridge from Airport Appliance in Hayward, and have not had any problems at all! more

Bad Merchandise 2/21/2008

They have a big selection, but their sales staff is not in a hurry to sell anything. I did not enjoy the experience when I purchased a Viking Professional 1 year ago. Even bigger mistake, I did not purchase an extended warranty. My oven went out completely after just using the convection for the 4th time in a little over a year. Are there really that many lemons out there or is it just sub-standard products? I bought a Bosch dishwasher at the same time and that has already had problems as well. Don't forget your extended warranties! (which you really shouldn't need) more

Do your own research 10/3/2006

We bought four kitchen appliances and a washer at University Electric. We are displeased with two out of five of these appliances. \r \r The side-by-side counter-depth fridge proved to be a lemon. Its water dispenser rarely works. Its ergonomic re-configurable shelves and containers are unusable. To top it all, this morning (in the 3rd year of the fridge) we found that it has heated its contents to 90F. \r \r The washer, billed as a highly water and energy efficient model, is not usable without constant attention. It stops in the middle of its cycle if the load is not angularly uniformly distributed. \r \r In summary, do not trust the sales people to give you advice about the reliability and usability of the appliances. more

Highly recommended 7/26/2006

This place had the best prices out of every other appliance store we checked by $100's. They have a large showroom and very helpful staff. The weekends are very busy but the weekdays are practically empty. I highly recommend going here for your appliances! more

The place to go for kitchen appliances 5/5/2006

Go to University Elecric for great prices, great selection and great service. The location is in more of an industrial area than a retail area, but the trip is worth it.\r \r In our recent kitchen remodel we priced appliances from a variety of local vendors and even looked at on-line appliance sellers. I wanted good grade appliances but was not interested in the super expensive gourmet lines, such as Viking and Subzero. \r \r Before visiting University Electric I felt like my choices were either to go to a premium line vendor and ask if they had anything cheaper or go to Home Depot or Best Buy and ask if they had anything a little nicer.\r \r On the recommendation of a friend I visited University Electric Home Appliance Center. I ordered my appliances that very night.\r \r UE has a big show room with a huge selection. I could examine the appliance I was considering. They had all the premium stuff, (like Viking and Subzero) the middle lines (such as Bosch, Kitchenaid, GE Profile) and t more

Very knowledgeable 4/18/2006

The staff at University Electric know their stuff! All kinds of brands are on display. Every appliance you'd ever need! Go early if you're going on the weekend - it gets busy! PROS: friendly, knowledgable CONS: often a wait to get help, but worth it! more
