As an incoming freshman at UT Austin, I have come to find that the prices at the Co-op are fairly outrageous! As any other bookstore at any other university, the used book prices are ridiculous! Since this is not just a bookstore, it has a lot of stuff that denotes school spirit! Thats 1 thing that I loved about this store. Coming to Austin, TX, this school has got to be 1 of the most spirited universities I've visited.. and Ive visited quite a few. Everything from pencils to notebooks to flags is available with the Longhorn logo on it! They also have seasonal items such as christmas decorations with longhorns on it! Some of this stuff can get pricey, but if you are a Longhorn fan, this is the store for you! For books, I'd recommend researching online to see if cheaper books are available anywhere else, but if not, this store will certainly have it for you! Definately worth a visit atleast once.
Another great thing about this store, is their Rebate Program! Make sure you save all your receipts from the Co-Op because at the end of the year, you can turn in these receipts for a 10% rebate check that you can use for future purchases. This is really effective when you spend around 400 bucks on books, which will give you around $40 to spend later. I was told this money was the best way to buy your burnt orange T-shirts. Its like getting to use your money twice :)
