Great & wonderful college book store! 4/13/2006

My daughter likes to shop here for her college books for ACC classes. She can find anything here for her classes. The workers there are friendly & always helpful in locating the right books for her classes. I like their Texas merchandise & can find anything for that Longhorn fan. I recommend this place to anyone. more

University Co-Op 3/27/2006

This is really the only place to go if you're looking for a Longhorn-themed gift. You will find anything and everything under the sun with the Longhorn spirit on it. Their bumper stickers and T-shirts section have a great selection. They don't have many great deals but it's likely that you won't find those in many places. Longhorn items are always in style in this town. If you're a student, you will find decent prices for the books that you sell back. There used to be more competition on this end, but the Co-Op has recently taken over that sector. Still, they haven't gone completely off the end and still give pretty good returns. more

lots of clother here 11/13/2005

If you are a loyal University of Texas fan, you definitely want to come here. There are full of items with school logo like T-shirt, caps, sweashirt. They sell plates, carpets, toys with school logo, too! The price is okay. You can also buy textbook here. They do provide textbook buyback service. more

Longhorn Fans Unite at the Co-op! 10/14/2005

The University Co-op is not only a great place to buy new or used books, it's also one of the best places to find everything 'Longhorn'. My brother-in-law is a huge fan and all of his gifts come from the Co-op and he loves every bit of it. From Clothing and bumper stickers to really unique burnt orange items, they have it all. Haven't seen a variety like this anywhere else. more

Home for longhorn fans 9/30/2005

If you are a fan of Longhorn, you will definitely love this place. The store has good lightings and has everything well organized. You can find every apparal and accessorieswith longhorn marks. They have a very good sense of designing things, so they make the longhorn look so stylish. Also, they sell whatever you will need for school, since they are a related store of the University of Texas. So, you can find textbooks and school supplies there. By the way, if you don't have much money but still want to own some longhorns, there is a co-op outlet next door! more

Certain stuff is great 9/6/2005

As an incoming freshman at UT Austin, I have come to find that the prices at the Co-op are fairly outrageous! As any other bookstore at any other university, the used book prices are ridiculous! Since this is not just a bookstore, it has a lot of stuff that denotes school spirit! Thats 1 thing that I loved about this store. Coming to Austin, TX, this school has got to be 1 of the most spirited universities I've visited.. and Ive visited quite a few. Everything from pencils to notebooks to flags is available with the Longhorn logo on it! They also have seasonal items such as christmas decorations with longhorns on it! Some of this stuff can get pricey, but if you are a Longhorn fan, this is the store for you! For books, I'd recommend researching online to see if cheaper books are available anywhere else, but if not, this store will certainly have it for you! Definately worth a visit atleast once. Another great thing about this store, is their Rebate Program! Make sure you save all your receipts from the Co-Op because at the end of the year, you can turn in these receipts for a 10% rebate check that you can use for future purchases. This is really effective when you spend around 400 bucks on books, which will give you around $40 to spend later. I was told this money was the best way to buy your burnt orange T-shirts. Its like getting to use your money twice :) more

Great Shopping! 9/6/2005

As a current doctoral student, I have spent a great deal of time, and money, at the UT-Co-op. The Co-op recently acquired the old Barnes and Noble bookstore and therfore have a great deal of space. While the textbook portion of the store is still relatively cramped (and underground), the rest of the store is spacious and nice. There is even a Clinique counter on the theird floor of the store, and I have found that they are always stocked with what I need. If you need school supplies, longhorn apparel, or make-up -- try the Co-op! more

Everythying Horns, Burns hole in pocket though 8/16/2005

People have mixed feelings about the University Co-op (Me being one of them) The Bad: The Co-op has completely run out all of the other bookstores on the Drag, then bought their buildings from them. Just recently Barnes and Nobel was shut down, and the Co-op has taken over THAT building. What are they trying to do exactly? The Staff, many of the staff are queit and not all that friendly like an Austin store should. The Good: If you want to find longhorn ANYTHING, go to the co-op. It won't be cheap though, but people are willing to pay anything for longhorn gear. They seriously have anything, even pointless things such as a longhorn flashlight that projects an image like a "batman" symbol, so useless. The co-op also claims to pump hundreds of thousands of dollars back into the university to fund student programs. The Ugly: The co-op has a monopoly on the books that are required by the university of Texas. The teachers and staff directly place orders with them to carry the books in stock. In a given semester a student could easily save hundreds by buying on-line or used. They also buy back books for 1/2 their new value then raise the price up for people who want to buy used books. more

Looking for Something for that Longhorn Fan 7/30/2005

First, this is the best place to buy textbooks around the UT Campus. They were so much better than the competition that they drove them off the drag. They give you a pretty good return rate on your books when you sell them back. Not to mention that their stores are chock full of fantastic longhorn gifts! They have everything from UT baby cheerleading outfits to UT golf balls to UT antenna balls. I highly recommend checking them out. BTW, their location on Medical Arts has the best art supply selection in Austin. more
