Run as fast as you could to medical facilities that know what their doing and forget going to United Health Services Binghamton General and Wilson Memorial Hospital. Personal experience was unpleasant when dealing with both hospitals. My doctors office scheduled my surgery at one hospital in which I had all my post op tests and the day of the surgery I went to that hospital only to be told I was not listed on the surgical roster there. Their surgical scheduling unit booked me into their other hospital for the surgery which I had been very vocal against going there because of filthy conditions in the surgical rooms and patient rooms.
Because of constant pain I ended up succumbing to having the surgery done at the other hospital which was not equipped and ready to accomodate me before my surgery. They had no rooms available on the surgical waiting floor and I was left to sit out in the visitors area before getting ready to go into surgery. My doctor had to give me a last checkup in a business office off the patient waiting room because no other room was available to do so.
After surgery when I was fully awake in recovery I was left in my own mess while the nurse in charge of me was desperately trying to get the floor nurses to come get me so she wouldn't have to clean me up.
I did not have anything to eat over 40 hours which was detrimental to a medical condition I have and I could have gone into a coma.
I was charged for a piece of equipment by UHS that I was told my insurance covered when it didn't.
I got overcharged on medications and physical therapy and this charge happy hospital had a field day billing my insurance then had the nerve to send me a hospital bill when my insurance wanted more information from them.
Their staff is overworked and underpaid keeping them from giving the best care to their patients.
This business is a honeyhole that keeps socking huge bills to private insurance companies to fill the money void that medicaid/medicare reimbursements won't pay.
