We temporarily relocated to the Raleigh-Durham area for work in Research Triangle Park. We had always taken our much-loved and much-spoiled dog to a day-care while we worked, and were looking for something comparable in the area. We looked very carefully at the options, including facilities, ratings, separation of dogs of different sizes and temperaments, and how the day was structured. Some dog-care operations highlight how nice the facilities are, inside or outside, but then kennel the dogs for a large part of the day. We want our dog to get plenty of exercise and social activity. She can rest at home. Camp Bow Wow was our choice, and it was the right one in every way. This is a franchise subscribing to a particular philosophy and design of care. The staff are professional and clearly love the dogs. There is an interview about your dog and a trial first day, complete with a report card. The facility has web-cams for every area, allowing you to check on your dog at any time. They do give the dogs a mid-day break (and if you wish a snack) for two hours, but the rest of the day is closely monitored play-time. The staff knows every dog by name, and can report on how your dog did through the day, and who its friends are. They are very attentive to special needs and requests. The price is average for such facilities, and particularly good if you buy the 30 day pass. You might even have your dog chosen for one of the monthly awards (sweetest, most obedient, most playful, etc.). We can highly recommend Camp Bow Wow if you are like us, and want to know your dog is in good hands and having a blast.
