United Air Care

I just came across my receipt for their ""services"" after seeing a story about businesses like this on ""Dateline"". Also, my work was done back in 7/09. Saw the same coupon as everyone else did and thought it to be a good deal. Once they started though, it was a whole other story. They said that I needed all of this other stuff done and proceeded to present me with an estimate for over $300 worth of additional work. I was in the middle of dinner and trying to pack for a trip, so I told him to wrap it up and let me get on with my life. He continuted to pressure me about needing to have this other work done. I told him, ""We only run our air maybe 3 months out of the year (we live in S. CA) and our heat maybe 1 month out of the year. How can our ducts be that bad?"" Well of course he had an explanation--and continued with the pressure tactics. I almost literally had to throw him out of our house. When my husband got home, he went to inspect the unit in our attic. Fortunately or us, the tech had left the cover off our unit in his haste to leave (get his butt kicked out) and we were able to really inspect it for ourselves. I'm not saying it was spotless, but it was in far better shape than we'd been lead to believe. I'm glad that some of the reviewers who've posted here had a good experience with this company--we did not and would never recommend them to anyone. more

Got really sick of using an air purifier because of the bad air in my house. One of my friends recommended United Air Care and talked about a Air Duct cleaning coupon in which i was interested in. had them come by and apparently my ducts were long overdue for a cleaning. got the job done promptly and havent used the purifier since. more

Got a coupon for these guys to come out and clean out my air ducts and air conditioning unit. Honestly, I would not have even considered these services if it werent for the coupon. more

I recently used United Air Care's air conditioning installation service and they were prompt and did a quality job. I know the price might have been a bit higher than what I wanted to pay, but in the end I was satisfied. I did not know how to install and air conditioner and after reading up on it on Google I figured I was not equipped to do the job myself so I called United Air Care. They were helpful and even instructed me on how to do it and I indicated that I would rather have them do it. They arrived, installed in a few hours, and left - me? a happy camper! more

I think anyone who doesnt get exactly what theyre looking for, not only from United, but from any other company, needs to grow a backbone. You gotta know what youre looking for and ask for it and nothing else. more

Wow, United Air Care did a fine job. Not sure if they changed management or whatever, but they kept up with their promise / coupon. I printed the $79 vacuuming of vents and tehy came by, vacuumed and no hard seling tactics. Just did what I asked and that was all. Wwere finished within 2 hrs and paid my money and niothing more. more

I was not aware of any coupons or services for promised fees. I was referred to these guys by my coworker and he said that they did a decent job. I don't really shop around so I took his word for it and tried them out. Nothing out of the ordinary, but seems like I got a good experience compared to some. I had to get my ducts resealed and also had my insulation replaced and they seemed to have done a decent enough job. It took a good amount of time, but I wasnt expecting them to be quick -- had a lot of work done. Not bad, I would do again with United Air more

i got the coupon deal. hard on me because i did not get more deals and it was hard to convince them thats all i needed. they say i was making mistake, we will see more

While I cannot speak for the other review, I did want to say that they did the work that was asked of them and nothing more/less. Of course, they tried to hard upsell me for other services and a uv cleanser of some sorts, but I was familiar with the industry and politely denied. I had to get some work done to pass inspection and I knew exactly what I needed. I asked them to do it and they did it... that's all there's to it. I can understand where the other reviewer is coming from, considering their demeanor, but they performed teh job. more

United Air Care Inc, in Chatsworth Ca is a full service scam. They advertise low cost service on residential heating, then come to you home and try and talk you into hundreds (or thousands in my case) of dollars of work. In my case their serviceman/salesman talked my wife into $1,200 of service. He even tried to have her agree to replacing all of the ducting in the attic ($2,300). My wife was concerned about a health issue with my daughter, and the salesman saw this. He did a great job if you want a sleezy salesman in your house to sell you whatever he can. After three calls to the business to discuss my service, I did not receive a call back. I contacted the BBB and they just danced around the facts. DON'T USE THIS BUSINESS AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!!
