Truly impressive menu 9/26/2005

This is a lovely little restaurant. While the prices can get alittle steep for your average bear, the lunch time menu can be quite reasonable with some lovely combinations of dishes and delicious sandwiches. I think the UNION LEAGUE CLUB for 7.00 - Grilled chicken club with smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, ginger, black pepper mayonnaise, served with housemade vegetable chips is a great deal for lunch in New Haven. The wine menu is amazing, and the decor is quite lovely, as The Union League Cafe occupies the historic Sherman Building. I would recommend it for a business lunch or romantic dinner. The Bar is opened for cocktails from 11:30 a.m. until closing, with the Bistro Menu offered from 5:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. more
