Had to have some electrical work done. I called Ungerman because I have used them in the past. And as usual, they were prompt; in fact the technician was a little early. The office called me to ensure that it was o.k. to arrive a bit ahead of schedule. The young man who arrived was Jerry who was neatly dressed, polite, and got right to work. He was knowledgeable and explained what he was doing. He answered questions about the wiring to my furnace which I was having trouble with. He completed his work in a timely manner and the bill was reasonable for all that he had done. I have found that those companies who hire polite, neatly dressed technicians, and who try to explain things to the customer, are the companies to stick with. Ungerman is that kind of company. more

Had an electrical nightmare during the installation of a sliding door and a new (to be cut into a blank wall) window. Freak accident with the door frame damaged a hanging light fixture. Had to take it down and now had no light over the dining table. Then the guys cut into the drywall for the new window, and there were three electrical lines running right across the middle of the space. End of window installation until we found an electrician. more

I called Ungerman Electric with a problem at 10:00 AM and a very competent electrician was in my driveway at 10:20. He was clean, polite, and knew exactly what to do. more

While there are plenty of good electricians to pick in Albany, Ungerman is better than good. They are a family-owned business that prides itself with service and quality. I recently had hired them for a residential project to wire a new garage and their work was done well, efficiently and as promised. They even brought on an apprenticing future electrician and the foreman on the job was sharing all his professional experience, something rarely seen anymore. I also had a billing issue and it was resolved in short order by the owner of the company. more

There are plenty of other good electricians to pick in Albany. Ungerman is not one of them. Please keep shopping around. Save yourself the stress and the money. Cons: you can't rely on them for anything more
