Uncommon Gardens has the most helpful staff in town. They have helped me so much over the past six years. It has an unusual variety of plants, plus it has all of the other garden stuff. There is even a charming gift shop with terrific things. more

Gardener's heaven 9/28/2009

This store is manageable in size, and they have plants I have never seen or heard of anywhere else. The staff isn't snooty, and the cats are beyond cute, lazing about the place. Not your typical garden experience. more

Buyer Beware! 5/7/2008

Terrible quality plants! The owner has a marketing background, clearly not a horticulture background. Stressed, diseased, root-bound. They do not offer a warranty. I'm sad to say that you're better of going to home depot, at least the plants haven't been in the same pot for years. more

Uncommon Gardens-Native Plants, Friendly Cats 12/17/2007

I found a very good selection of Minnesota Natives for my Rain Garden, it's hard to find a good selection of Native plants! The condition of the plants is always good. They also have a nice selection of garden ornaments and decorative gift items. They are a bit pricey. I bought a number of annuals late in the season after they had lowered the price and they all performed beautifully. They have friendly cats roaming the place to keep you company too. more

Really Cute Place, Many Plants not that Uncommon 8/13/2005

Uncommon Gardens was started by a former ad exec that decided to switch from the fast lane to the garden path. Uncommon Gardens is a fun place to browse. The main building looks like something out of the English Countryside, with its shakes siding, wrought iron, and cute stone benches. The plant selection is somewhat on the small side, and while it tends slightly towards the exotic, there is a fair amount of common plants as well. The prices are average to fairly high during the regular season, but towards the end of summer, they have some pretty decent sales. more
