On June 25, 2014, we took our grandchildren, ages 8 and 9, to Uncle Donald's Farm. The highlights were the hayride to feed the cows, the milking of the goat, and the bottle feeding of the baby goat. However, the experience with purchasing the tickets put a damper on it as far as I was concerned! We were first to arrive right at opening time, 10:00 a.m., and followed the sign to a building for purchasing tickets. No staff was around on the grounds that we could see and the door was closed, so I knocked out of courtesy. A female voice answered very gruffly that the door was open. I went in thinking she would greet me cordially, but instead she looked right at me and did not smile. I told her I wasn't sure she was open yet, and she again gruffly said something like "the door wouldn't be unlocked if we weren't open." I seriously considered turning around and leaving without purchasing tickets, but didn't want to disappoint our grandchildren. Never at anytime during the transaction did she smile or make me feel like my business was appreciated.
