Middling selection, overpriced goods 12/12/2005

This store knows that there is no alternative place to shop for miles and it really takes advantage of this knowledge. Prices are high here even for the already stratospheric prices of Patagonia and North Face. Of course this store also has the best selection of hiking shoes in the area and sells the necessary equipment for camping. Customer service is okay here but nothing special. Seriously though, where is one going to utilize any of this stuff in the Midwest. If you really need it for a trip somewhere else just buy it on line or buy it when you arrive at your destination. I guarantee that prices will be lower. more

Great for Chicago winters 8/13/2005

Uncle Dan's has a wide selection of summer and winter clothing and accessory needs. While their prices are a little on the high side, they do have great deals sometimes, and the quality is always unquestionable. Also, they do have some quirky products at the counter, which are fun to look at. The employees are friendly. more

Great Outdoors Store 8/5/2005

Uncle Dan's is a fun place to shop for the adventure seeker or for someone who like casual clothing and shoes. They have a wide variety of gear for outdoor sports like camping, skiing as well as nice clothing, shoes, bags and accessories. Cute stuff for kids too. Prices seem reasonable and I got great deals at times. Large selection of backpacks also. more
