Best

I love Uncle bills and have been a patron for 10 years! It is a quaint breakfast place in the old school diner style. The view from the patio is amazing and so is the ocean breeze...

Worst

We ordered Macadamia Nut Pancakes and Waffles...both of which were to be considered 'house favorites'. However, the macadamia nut pancakes just had macadamia nuts sprinkled on to...

My favorite breakfast joint 10/26/2006

This place is great for breakfast. They have excellent pancakes (the banana nut ones are my fav), as well as omlettes and waffles. more

my husband and i recently moved down from northern california and we've been looking for a good breakfast place and uncle bill's is a good start to our search. we may likely might not look further due to the proximity of uncle bill's but for a non-special weekend brunch, this might be the place for us. although seating might be problematic for a big crowd, we lucked out since a small table for two opened up when we arrived. service was prompt and pleasant and they kept our coffee mugs full. i ordered the potato stroganoff with a side of 6-dollar pancakes. i only ate half of each and i was quite content. my husband ordered the bacon waffle with eggs and sausage and he was very satisfied. we'll definitely return for breakfast on the patio on a warmer day. Pros: service, inexpensive Cons: group seating more

Really good breakfast 7/30/2005

I love corn beef hash and Uncle Bill's delivered. With a side of chocolate chip panckes -- I had a delicious breakfast. Was it the best ever? No. Was it up there -- Definitely. Pros: Pancakes, Good menu choices more

Good for only Pancakes 12/28/2004

I went there for lunch and ordered the Expo 79 which is a HUGE omelette with bacon, ham, mushrooms, onions, and cheese topped with sour cream and meat sauce. I was disappointed as this omelette was not too tasty, kind of bland. It came with a generous portion of hashbrowns that were OK. The blueberry buckwheat pancakes were outstanding, however. My coworkers sandwiches and big onion rings were so-so according to them. It took them about 10 minutes to take our order. Pros: pancakes Cons: , is bland more

yummy breakfast... 8/9/2004

although the 30mins wait for a table was long, my bf & i had a good time enjoying our breakfast this sat morning. maybe the wait right outside the cafe is good since u'll be smelling all the yummy pancakes b4 u can actually sit down and taste them. i got the blueberry pancake and my bf got the cinnamon apple pancake. we both agreed that the cinnamon apple one gave us the ""WOW"" feeling after the first bite. the menu is great large, so we'll have to revisit the cafe in order to try out some more. Pros: food , service , value Cons: , long wait more

What a find! 3/20/2004

I looked on Citysearch for a breakfast spot near the airport to meet a friend who had a long layover. Huge menu, friendly and efficient waitstaff and good food. We got there very early on a Sunday morning so we didn't have to wait. After breakfast we took a walk along the pier. Just lovely! Pros: Huge menu, Friendly waitstaff, Fun atmosphere more

Yummy! 8/20/2003

Uncle Bill's is going to be my new breakfast place. The omelettes are large and very filling. The bacon was a little on the salty side though. But they have a pretty good range of other breakfast dishes to choose from. Plus you can walk off the hearty breakfast since the beach is just steps away. more

Breakfast Paradise 2/9/2003

Excellent food, service, and location. I've hardly ever had to wait for a seat, but when I do, there's no better place to be than waiting than at the beach. Pros: Beautiful Location, Great Food, Reasonable Prices more

Best Beach Breakfast Bingo game in town 11/14/2002

Great food at great beach location. Creative, mouth watering and filling -- what a combo. Weekends, bring The Times -- will be a wait. more

Potato-heaven 9/7/2002

the potatoe staganoff is an potato lovers paradise. if you love potatoes like i do, this is a meal. Pros: inexpensive, good enviroment, friendly Cons: parking, wait more

Good Stuff! 9/3/2002

The food was excellent! Got a bit noisy at times - the place is small and they really pack the place. If you don't want to wait for a table, you can opt to sit at the bar, although that will fill up too. They get creative with their waffles and scrambled eggs. Try the Mitch's scramble - eggs, green chiles, and cream cheese! more

Hearty Breakfasts 8/30/2002

This is the place to go on those cold rainy beach mornings. No wait, no lines... and good, hearty stick to your ribs kind of food. Pros: great pancakes Cons: service is spotty more

yum! 7/30/2002

the pancakes are great, but the waiting is horrible. great weather all the time- though! Cons: waiting more

Not good enough 4 Buffy&Jody 7/28/2002

I was very disappointed. I got a Spanish Omlette that was inedible...it was made with American Cheese and awful Salsa. Really bad. I guess the pancakes were OK. Not that great. No IHOP. more

pancakes at the shore 7/23/2002

uncle bill's is by far the best place to get pancakes and waffles in the southbay. you would never know that it was so close to the airport. eat yummy pancakes while watching the beautiful people of manhattan beach stroll by. beware of the long wait on the weekends! Pros: great food, fast service Cons: long wait more

Long lines at local breakfast spot 6/10/2002

Uncle Bill's is another Manhattan Beach local spot. There is ALWAYS a line here. I believe the restaurant closes around 3pm. The food portions are generous, but the food isn't that wonderful. Pancakes and omelettes seem to be the favorites. There are pictures of local surfers all over the walls. more
